The event attracted the participation of a large number of managers and experts from affiliated units, demonstrating the Ministry's initiative in equipping its human resources with digital knowledge to meet the requirements of the new era.
GenAI: A powerful support tool, not a replacement for human thinking
Mr. Mai Anh Hong, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, spoke at the event.
In his opening speech, Mr. Mai Anh Hong, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Science and Technology, emphasized the important role of GenAI in optimizing work performance, minimizing repetitive tasks, thereby freeing up resources for jobs that require strategic thinking and creativity. However, despite its great potential, GenAI cannot completely replace the role of humans, especially in complex fields that require sensitivity to context, emotions and unique creativity.
Users need to approach GenAI with critical thinking, always carefully assessing the information provided by this technology and clearly aware of its inherent limitations. Only then can we effectively exploit the power of GenAI without falling into machine dependence .
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Que, General Director of Edmicro Education Company Limited, spoke at the training class.
In the first discussion session, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Que, General Director of Edmicro Education Company Limited, provided an overview of the ups and downs of AI's development history. From simple logic algorithms in the early days, AI has gone through the Deep Learning stage and is currently witnessing the strong explosion of GenAI with a series of advanced platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Qwen.
GenAI today is not limited to processing text, images, audio and video, but has also expanded to more complex applications such as big data analysis, automating content creation processes and supporting deep learning problems. However, he also mentioned the "black box" nature of GenAI models, a significant challenge in controlling and ensuring the transparency of AI-generated results.
Another notable point is the change in the way people interact with AI technology. From direct programming with code, we have moved to communicating through data and now through natural prompts. The thinking trend in this field is also gradually shifting to ethical issues and harmonious collaboration between humans and AI in both the workplace and everyday life.
Practical applications of GenAI from a management perspective
Mr. Le Duy Tien, an expert in researching the application of AI assistants in work, spoke at the training class.
The second session of the training course focused on the practical applications of GenAI in the management environment, shared vividly and experiencedly by Mr. Le Duy Tien, an expert in researching the application of AI assistants in work . Based on practical experiences, Mr. Tien presented a series of effective situations using GenAI in daily work such as summarizing documents, editing text, supporting translation, designing presentations, synthesizing data and converting various data formats (OCR, text-to-image...).
He affirmed that GenAI is truly a powerful support tool, bringing clear results if users master the art of "communicating" with AI through building quality prompts.
Mr. Le Duy Tien especially emphasized the key role of prompts – input commands – in guiding GenAI’s output results. An effective prompt needs to ensure clarity of context, specific goals, desired format, appropriate tone, and can be accompanied by detailed illustrative examples.
Along with the benefits, there are also some potential risks when using AI, including the possibility of creating false, biased or contextual information. In particular, users need to strictly comply with regulations on information security and data safety, avoiding entering sensitive, non-public data into AI assistants, especially in the context of the Draft Decree guiding the Data Law (February 5, 2025) being urgently completed.
The training course " Skills for living and working with GenAI " not only equips officers and experts of the Ministry of Science and Technology with basic knowledge about the concepts, trends and diverse applications of GenAI, but also creates a forum for practice, exchange of experiences and discussion of practical application situations in professional work.
The event also suggested a new way of thinking in the digital transformation process of agencies and organizations: for GenAI to truly create sustainable value, there needs to be synchronization between three core elements: technology, data and people. Investing in training, adjusting the leadership team, updating management methods and building a suitable digital transformation roadmap are the keys to maximizing the potential of AI technology, promoting innovation and optimizing operational efficiency in the digital age.
