Yen Son is an area with a high urbanization rate, with many key projects and works of the province and district being built such as: Urban development axis road project from Tuyen Quang city to Yen Son district center, Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project (phase 1) section passing through Yen Son district, Road construction project from My Lam mineral spring tourist area to National Highway 2D connecting Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway, Xuan Van bridge project across Gam river, D2 main axis road project in Yen Son town, Ho Chi Minh road section Chu market - Trung Son intersection through Trung Son and Hung Loi communes... Thanks to regular dialogue, listening and making decisions on the basis of ensuring maximum legitimate interests of the people, many localities have done a good job of site clearance to create clean land funds to implement key projects on schedule.

The work of receiving citizens and dialogue with people in Yen Son district has initially achieved many remarkable results. Up to now, the long-standing cases in the district have been basically resolved. One of the important solutions is the responsible participation of the heads of Party committees and authorities in receiving citizens, handling citizens' reflections and recommendations, which have been seriously implemented according to regulations.

In the first quarter of 2024, Yen Son district recorded 64 citizen receptions, receiving a total of 163 petitions, mainly focusing on petitions, cases of recommendations and reflections. Of which, the number of petitions and cases under its authority and received during the period was 92 cases. The number of cases/contents of recommendations and reflections resolved was 74 cases, the rest are being focused on resolving.

Comrade Pham Ninh Thai, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Yen Son district said: Direct dialogue between the heads of Party committees and authorities with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the People, and regular citizen receptions are opportunities for district leaders to directly listen to and receive opinions, recommendations, aspirations and wishes of cadres, Party members and the People, thereby promptly providing solutions for leadership and direction of the Party Committee; management and operation of the government. Thanks to that, many disputes and complaints have been promptly received and handled right at the grassroots level, without prolonged complaints going beyond the level, contributing to ensuring political security and social order and safety in the locality.

In 2023, Kim Quan commune (Yen Son) completed 19/19 advanced new rural criteria. To achieve such impressive results, it is impossible not to mention the close working style and closeness to the people of the Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, Trong Van Vinh. The schedule for receiving people of Kim Quan commune is 2 sessions a week on Tuesday and Thursday every week, but with Mr. Vinh, people can directly meet and exchange opinions at any time, as long as the Secretary and Chairman of the commune are not busy with work.

Mr. Vinh shared: "There is no need to hold meetings at the office. If there is anything that needs to be discussed or discussed with the people, we go down to the village. If there is a large house, we spread out a mat and sit down to discuss work. It is thanks to shortening the distance between the leaders and the people that it has contributed significantly to creating consensus and strengthening people's trust in the local Party Committee and government."

When the people agree

In Xuan Van commune, people have been looking forward to a bridge connecting the two banks of the Gam River for many years, so when the locality had an investment project to build a Xuan Van bridge across the Gam River, Mr. Trinh Van Nang and Ms. Trieu Thi Dung in Cho village, Xuan Van commune were very excited. Mr. Nang said: "Such a large welfare project, such a desirable bridge, we have to support the locality, looking at the planned location of the bridge, I determined that sooner or later the 2-storey house where my wife and I are living will have to be moved. So let's take the initiative to demolish it early so that the State can build a bridge for us to walk on."

Thinking is doing, although both Mr. and Mrs. Nang Dung are over 70 years old, Mr. and Mrs. Nang Dung's family is one of the first households to voluntarily dismantle their 2-storey house, rent a house, and return the site to contractors in time to complete the project. Mr. Nang said: "The Gam River used to be very dangerous during flood season, the water was strong, and boats could easily sink. Now that Xuan Van Bridge is completed, the people are very happy. I think it's simply for the common good of the locality. We support whatever we have, if not materially, then spiritually. We've been waiting all our lives. Now that there is a sturdy bridge like that, we have to trust and support the government."

Nghia Trung residential group, Yen Son town has recently been one of the bright spots in the propaganda work, mobilizing people to do a good job of compensation and site clearance, helping contractors start construction soon, ensuring the project's progress. Mr. Hoang Quoc Duyet, head of Nghia Trung residential group, said that Nghia Trung residential group has many important routes passing through it such as the urban development axis road from Tuyen Quang city to Yen Son district center, the main axis road D2 and the road of Nghia Trung residential area.

Mr. Duyet said that the mobilization of compensation for site clearance is a difficult and complicated task because it is directly related to houses and land that have been attached to the daily lives of the people. Putting himself in the position of the people, he understood, so he proactively coordinated well with the functional units to persistently propagate and mobilize the people. Along with organizing many meetings, he always attached importance to directly going to each household to talk closely and explain to the people, the way to do it is to choose the households with more difficulties, to propagate and mobilize first, when the people hear, the remaining households will agree to accept the compensation level. Currently, many new roads passing through the location of Nghia Trung residential group are favorable, the people unanimously support the State to carry out the construction, basically there are no more problems, these are very encouraging signals.

With the drastic participation of the Party Committee and the authorities of Yen Son district, increasing dialogue and creating consensus, many issues that the people have expressed concerns about, petitioned and proposed many times but have not been considered have been promptly and thoroughly resolved by the leaders. Also through dialogue, the leaders of the district and commune promptly discovered and corrected the mistakes of cadres, civil servants and public employees in the organization and implementation, and had solutions to stabilize the situation, prevent the formation and emergence of security and order hotspots, and strengthen the people's trust in the Party Committee and local authorities.
