Looking down from above the coast, Duong – Ganh Son is like a multi-colored painting. The red brick of the undulating clay mountains like rocks; the dark brown of the bamboo baskets, the white of the long sand strip and the deep blue of the immense ocean.

The red rock mountains here are about 20m to 25m above sea level. Many people call them rock mountains, but in fact they are hard clay. The dark red mountains are undulating as if they have just been carved, some places are precarious and rugged, due to the effects of wind and storms over time. There are also very strange mountain ranges, clearly showing two colors, the top is dark red, and the bottom is hard gray-white soil like rock, looking very beautiful and majestic. The most beautiful is early morning when the dawn just rises or in the afternoon, the sun hangs on the mountain top, the dark red color reflects on the white sand strip creating a perfect picture. Nowadays, tourists come to Ganh Son not only to admire the magical beauty of nature, but also to feel the character of the people of the Duong fishing village, rustic and simple. They are industrious, hard-working and diligent with their traditional basket boats. The Duong hamlet fishing village - Ganh Son is located right on the strait, the population is not very large, but most of them are long-time fishermen. In their free time, adults and children often go out to play, chat, sit and enjoy the cool breeze or wait for their relatives to return from the sea. The people of the fishing village here rarely have large boats, but mainly fish near the shore. Every family has 1 to 2 basket boats (thung chai) to catch squid, cast nets near the shore or as a means of connecting to boats anchored far away. Therefore, the Ganh Son coast is lined with basket boats, stretching to hundreds of boats; some have small engines, but many only have hand oars.

Old fisherman Nguyen Hoang Thanh, Ha Thuy 1 village, Chi Cong commune shared: “For generations, Ganh Son has retained its pristine, rustic beauty. The red rock mountains are like vermillion, the sea is adjacent and in between is a strip of fine, pink-white sand. Ganh Son has great tourism potential. Recently, many tourist groups have come to camp along the coast, take photos and check-in from the pristine red rock mountains or experience fishing with fishermen; at night, light a campfire for community activities... making Ganh Son beach more vibrant, the fishing village more joyful. Tourist activities contribute to expanding the awareness of business services of the fishing village people and arousing awareness of keeping Ganh Son beach cleaner and more beautiful...".
