Participate in building and protecting the Party and government

Implementing the emulation movement "Exemplary war veterans" for the period 2019 - 2024, the war veterans' associations at all levels in the province have carried out many specific tasks, close to the actual conditions in each locality, creating positive changes in the thinking and actions of cadres and members. The war veterans' associations at all levels always promote the nature and tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", set an example in studying and implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies; take care to foster steadfast and steadfast viewpoints and ideology for cadres and members. In the 2020 - 2025 term, the associations at all levels have nearly 2,300 war veterans' officials and members participating in Party committees at all levels; over 550 war veterans' association members were elected as People's Council delegates at all levels for the 2021 - 2026 term.

The associations at all levels have proactively coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, departments, branches, unions and socio-political organizations at the same level to effectively implement the Grassroots Democracy Regulations; preside over and participate in social supervision and criticism; and contribute ideas to build the Party and government. Over the past 5 years, the associations at all levels have mobilized over 5,260 members to join the security team, 9,353 members to join the mediation team, successfully mediated 4,355 cases; 10,074 members to participate in crime prevention...

In the emulation movement, there have been many outstanding and active collectives and individuals. Notably, the Association of War Veterans in Xuan Quang Commune (Chiem Hoa) has both built a strong association and actively participated in ensuring security and order at the grassroots level; the Association of War Veterans in Doi Can Ward (Tuyen Quang City) has 15/24 War Veterans members who are Party Cell Secretaries and Heads of Residential Groups, 11/24 members who are Deputy Party Cell Secretaries and Heads of the Front Work Committee, 13/24 Residential Group Security Guards who are War Veterans members...

Veteran Dao Dan, 2/4th class disabled soldier, Lang Quan residential group, Yen Son town (Yen Son) is 75 years old this year, but he has been a Party cell secretary for 28 consecutive years, and head of the residential area Front work committee for 20 years. Mr. Dan shared: Promoting the nature of Uncle Ho's soldier, I vow to dedicate my whole life to the Party and the People. Although I am old and my health has somewhat declined, I always promote the exemplary character and qualities of a soldier, together with the Party cell, to lead the residential group to excellently complete all tasks, contributing to building a clean and strong base.

Take the lead in emulation movements

The most prominent mark in the emulation movement "Exemplary war veterans" in the period of 2019-2024 is the movement of helping each other reduce poverty and do good business. With the efforts of members and the support of the association, from 2019 to now, the whole province has had more than 3,000 member households escape poverty; the number of member households with a good standard of living has increased to 58.8% (an increase of 5.7% compared to 2019).

To achieve this result, the association at all levels has implemented many practical and effective measures such as reviewing and grasping the number of poor and near-poor war veteran families to develop poverty reduction plans for each year; guiding members to access preferential policies of the State; coordinating to open training courses, disseminate knowledge about planting, raising livestock, production and business; helping each other with capital and seeds. Along with encouraging members to promote the development of agricultural, forestry and livestock production and expanding service business lines, the association at all levels has actively coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to provide credit to over 9,500 war veteran members to invest in household economic development. The association at all levels has used over 33.4 billion VND from the self-financing fund to lend to 5,679 members to develop production.

The movement of "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" for members has also been a highlight in the past 5 years. Determined not to let poor members live in temporary and dilapidated houses, the Provincial Veterans Association Executive Committee launched a movement to build "War Veterans' Houses of Love". From 2019 to present, the whole association has mobilized support of over 6 billion VND, contributed over 3,520 working days, 32,200 bamboo trees, wood, and rattan of all kinds... to support the elimination and repair of 119 dilapidated houses for poor members.

Not only creating a mark in helping each other reduce poverty and develop the economy, the emulation movement "Exemplary war veterans" has aroused the potential and promoted the efforts and intelligence of a large number of cadres and members of the war veterans association in implementing movements and campaigns launched by the Central and local levels. Typical examples include the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"; "Tuyen Quang joins hands to treat waste and fight against plastic waste"; Movement "All people protect national security"; "Tuyen Quang War Veterans participate in maintaining traffic order and safety and building traffic culture"... In the period of 2019 - 2024, War Veterans Association members voluntarily donated 46,950 m2 of land, over 42,650 working days to build kindergartens, village cultural houses, rural concrete roads and intra-field canal systems; coordinated to participate in 135 environmental protection propaganda teams, 1,744 teams to ensure security and order at the grassroots level and 1,761 War Veterans Association members participated in mediation teams.

In 5 years of implementing the emulation movement "Exemplary War Veterans", the War Veterans Association at all levels in the province has achieved many outstanding results, contributing significantly to socio-economic development, maintaining political stability and social order and safety in the locality. In recognition of its positive contributions in implementing the movement in the period of 2019 - 2024, the Provincial War Veterans Association was awarded the emulation flag by the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam War Veterans Association and the Provincial People's Committee, 229 collectives and 323 individuals were commended at all levels for their excellent performance in various fields of work. In particular, in the summary of the emulation movement "Exemplary War Veterans" in the period of 2019-2024 at all levels of the association, 201 collectives and 281 typical advanced individuals were commended at all levels. This is an important motivation for all levels of the Provincial Veterans Association to continue to strive and successfully carry out the key tasks set out in the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" for the period 2019 - 2024.
