Affirming the role of the Association

Identifying the building of a strong Association as one of the important tasks, the Veterans Association of Song Lo commune, Viet Tri city has promoted propaganda and mobilization work for cadres and members to well implement the Party's resolutions, policies and laws of the State, study and follow the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched in the locality. The development of the Association has always been of interest, currently the total number of War Veterans Association members in the whole commune is over 460 members operating in 4 branches, the membership attraction rate is 98%. The Association's activities are maintained regularly, in order, cadres and members are always exemplary in all fields.

The Association of War Veterans of Song Lo commune regularly cares about and inquires about the living conditions of its members.

Promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", war veterans in the commune uphold the spirit of self-reliance, solidarity, overcoming difficulties, and competing to develop the family economy. The War Veterans Association of the commune encourages members to proactively study and apply science and technology in cultivation, animal husbandry, and build economic models associated with environmental protection. In addition to the fund, the War Veterans Association also coordinates with the Commune Farmers' Association to support war veterans to borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank to invest in production and business. Since then, many economic models owned by war veterans have been effective, bringing stable income to their families and creating jobs for many local workers. Currently, Song Lo commune has no poor or near-poor war veteran households, the proportion of well-off and rich member households accounts for 25%.

As a core organization in local movements, the Commune Veterans Association has actively implemented programs and campaigns for social security to its branches and received the support of a large number of members. Over the years, cadres, members and families of War Veterans in the commune have contributed and supported hundreds of millions of VND to various funds. The Commune Veterans Association has accompanied the Fatherland Front and local socio-political organizations to support funds and working days to help families in difficult circumstances, and join hands to eliminate temporary houses for poor households.

Implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life", the Association coordinates with the government and organizations to mobilize, urge and remind members and people to properly implement the regulations on self-management of residential areas; build a model of bright, green, clean and beautiful roads, mobilize a large number of war veterans to participate in cleaning village roads and alleys, protecting the environment and ensuring traffic safety.

The Associations at all levels also coordinate to organize cultural and sports activities to celebrate political events of the country and locality; coordinate with grassroots organizations of the Union to propagate revolutionary traditions, the Law on Military Service, crime prevention and social evils to union members, youth and students in the area. Organize visits and present gifts to policy beneficiaries, people with revolutionary contributions; propagate cadres and members to regularly care for and help people in difficult circumstances, visit sick and elderly members, thereby encouraging the spirit of members to enthusiastically participate in movements launched by the Associations at all levels. Every year, 100% of the War Veterans Associations in the commune successfully and excellently complete their tasks, 96% of members are exemplary members, 98% of member households achieve the title of cultural family.

Chairman of the Association of War Veterans of Song Lo Commune, Le Trung Tan, affirmed: The emulation to build a strong Association has contributed to improving the quality and effectiveness of association activities at the grassroots level. In the coming time, the Association of War Veterans of the Commune will actively direct and mobilize the replication of effective models, spread typical advanced examples in the area; continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, exemplary, creative, developing, building a comprehensively strong Association, and excellently completing all assigned tasks.
