According to data from the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Russian Federation, more than 58% of voters have cast their ballots at polling stations in the country's presidential election, after the second day of voting. Figures published on the CEC website show that as of 21:00 Moscow time (01:00 March 17 Hanoi time), the number of voters who have cast their ballots reached 58.10%.

Nearly 2.6 million Russians voted ahead of schedule.

In the 2018 election, when voting took place on one day, the voter turnout at 17:00 Moscow time was 51.9%. Moreover, after processing 99.83% of the protocols of the regional committees, this figure exceeded 67%.

The Russian presidential election began at 8:00 a.m. on March 15 and will last until 8:00 p.m. on March 17. The first polling stations opened in Kamchatka and Chukotka at 11:00 p.m. Moscow time on March 14. At 9:00 a.m. Moscow time, polling stations opened in Russia's westernmost region, Kaliningrad Oblast.

Voters can vote for one of four candidates, including Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.

According to the Russian TV channel RBC , the Central Election Commission said that the total number of voters in Russia is 112.309 million people and almost 1.9 million people outside. According to the ministry, since July 2023, the number of voters in Russia has increased by 4.394 million people. In January of this year, the Central Election Commission for the first time disclosed data on voters in Donetsk - 1.971 million people, in Lugansk - 1.652 million, in Zaporozhye and Kherson regions - about 470 thousand people each.

Citizens who were unable to get to polling stations between March 15 and 17 can vote early from February 25. In the Kherson region, 58.14% took advantage of this opportunity, Marina Zakharova, chairwoman of the regional election commission, told reporters.
