The non-profit art project Vietnam Marching Art has just announced the people who will take on the role of image ambassadors for the program, including Meritorious Artist Kim Tuyen, dancer Hoang Yen, singer Phuong My Chi, conductor Dustin Tieu and Ms. Truong Ngoc Minh Dang.
Accordingly, Phuong My Chi is the youngest honorary ambassador in the project. That makes the female singer very proud.
Talking about this, the young singer confided that she has preserved Vietnamese cultural values for a long time but felt very special when coming to this project.
"This is a subject to connect and increase solidarity among many people. I feel that very clearly because when making music, I also need connection and mutual understanding to create a perfect work. I understand, love you and hope this subject will spread more and more," the female singer shared.
Sharing about her role as ambassador, Meritorious Artist Kim Tuyen revealed that she felt surprised when she received the invitation from the organizing committee because her expertise is not in the music field.
“After the organizers explained, I was glad that this project had many elements, including acting. I was glad because it was my expertise and I felt very happy to contribute to the community project. The members of the project are children, which means we can create a young generation, the face of the country," she confided.
The Vietnam Marching Art project will kick off with the Under the Flag art program. This is an art program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
The program brings together about 200 musicians and 50 dancers, ranging in age from 7 to 40.
The organizers trusted musician Cao Ba Hung to be the music director and hoped that he would bring a work with national colors but still in line with modern trends. Sharing about this special role, Cao Ba Hung said that creating a combination of traditional and modern music was an interesting experience for him.
“As an independent artist, my dream since childhood is to bring Vietnamese culture to the world. I will put all my love, heart and talent into this project. However, this project is larger in scale than anything I have ever done before, so it is difficult. I am lucky to have teammates by my side, supporting me a lot. I will bring the story to the audience through the language of music,” he said.
Taking on the role of deputy organizer and general director of this project, director Le Viet shared that he is trying to create a project to gather young people who are passionate about this subject to form the core.
He said that each year, there will be a play with a theme, gathering a few hundred actors. It is a fairy tale, sometimes a myth or a love story to reach young audiences. The organizers want to make Vietnamese youth understand more about this subject.
"We will develop the community and call for investment funds for music education. In the future, we will provide free training for those who are passionate, talented and can withstand the regulations on collective discipline," he said.
As planned, the art program Under the Flag will take place on August 29 at Nguyen Du Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City.
Marching band is an art form with a history of hundreds of years in the world. This art form appeared in Vietnam about 10 years ago.
The Vietnam Marching Art project was born as an opportunity for Marching band members in Vietnam to exchange and learn.
The project's goal is to introduce, promote and develop the art of Marching band in Vietnam.
At the same time, we hope to select a Vietnamese Marching Band team to compete and exchange with countries in the region and the world. From there, the organizing committee hopes to select a team for Vietnam to officially participate in international competitions.
