On February 25, the Department of Health held a conference to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day, February 27 (1955-2025). Comrade Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and delivered a congratulatory speech.
Reviewing the history of the health sector, comrade Nguyen Trong Dien, Director of the Quang Ninh Department of Health, emphasized: Exactly 70 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to the health sector with the profound advice "A good doctor must be like a mother". Following his advice, generations of health sector officials in Quang Ninh province have made great strides in both quantity and quality; many generations of doctors have worked hard to build, contribute, and increasingly improve their mission of caring for, protecting, and improving people's health.
With the province's attention, up to now, the quality of the healthcare system in Quang Ninh has been continuously developed, improving from the provincial to the communal level with 32 medical units, 926 private medical facilities, and a total of nearly 8,500 medical staff. By 2024, the whole province will have 57.7 hospital beds, 15 doctors, 7 university pharmacists and 25 nurses per 10,000 people; the rate of population participating in health insurance will reach 95.56%; the quality of the population will be improved in many aspects; the expanded vaccination rate will reach over 95%...
Quang Ninh is one of the localities with a fast speed of application and innovation of medical techniques; the health sector has mastered many new techniques, specialized techniques of the upper level; effectively applied information technology; paid attention to training to improve the qualifications of medical staff and doctors; the health network in the province continues to be upgraded and improved.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and praised the achievements and contributions of generations of health sector officials and employees in the task of caring for, protecting and improving people's health. Especially the spirit of determination, high efforts, persistent and tireless contributions of each health sector official and employee in all positions.
Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the health sector pay special attention to building preventive medicine as the key, primary health care as the foundation, and specialized health care as the center. Effectively implement nutrition policies, improve stature and physical strength; improve general health knowledge for the people, contributing to the effective implementation of disease prevention work.
At the same time, promote socialization, develop non-state hospitals and medical facilities; develop specialized medical services and high-quality medical services. Continue to upgrade centers that have been invested in intensively in accordance with the spirit of some key areas such as cardiovascular, oncology, obstetrics and pediatrics, and lung disease centers.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Quang Ninh Health Department to continue expanding coverage and developing health insurance participants; promoting the application and effective implementation of the smart health system. At the same time, research and propose to the province solutions to improve the efficiency and quality of grassroots health care activities.
On this occasion, authorized by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Decision to confer the title of Meritorious Physician to 42 individuals; the Provincial People's Committee awarded emulation flags to collectives and awarded Certificates of Merit of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to individuals with outstanding achievements in the cause of protecting and taking care of people's health.
