Signing of cooperation program in the environmental field for the period 2024

This morning, September 12, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province to organize a conference to summarize the cooperation program in the environmental field for the period 2017 - 2023 and sign the cooperation program for the period 2024 - 2030. From 2017 to 2023, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and religious organizations have effectively implemented the coordination program and promoted the role of religious organizations in environmental protection and climate change response; the implementation of the coordination program has many creative methods, suitable to the characteristics of the local situation.

Religions have built many models suitable to the specific conditions of each locality and religion, bringing practical results, contributing to creating a strong shift in awareness and changing the attitudes, behaviors, and habits of dignitaries, officials, monks, nuns, religious followers, and people in the community in environmental protection and climate change response.

Many contents have been integrated into the implementation of patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, especially the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" and the movement "All people participate in environmental protection", so they have received the consensus and support of Party committees, authorities, fronts, sectors and organizations; the active participation of organizations, individuals, people of all walks of life as well as religious communities...

Also from 2018 - 2023, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment have effectively implemented the inter-sectoral coordination program on natural resources and environmental protection for the period 2018 - 2023, focusing on propaganda and dissemination of laws on environmental protection with diverse forms and contents, attracting the participation of many classes of people; community awareness of environmental protection has many positive changes; building, deploying, and replicating many specific and practical models for the community and contributing to reducing waste generation, creating a green - clean - beautiful landscape...

The Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations have had many initiatives and successfully built many community models participating in environmental protection. Socio-political organizations are increasingly paying more attention to environmental protection activities...

At the conference, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, religious organizations, and socio-political organizations signed a coordination program in the environmental field for the period 2024 - 2030.

Accordingly, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and religious organizations, socio-political organizations coordinate to propagate, mobilize, and raise awareness of each person, each family, community, enterprises, and production and business establishments to well implement the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State on management, rational use of natural resources, environmental protection, and response to climate change, especially promoting the dissemination and popularization of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020.

Continue to build and replicate models and typical examples of communities participating in environmental protection and responding to climate change... Organize training and fostering to improve professional capacity, skills, and coordination methods between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, socio-political organizations, religious organizations with state management agencies on natural resources and environment at all levels in implementing propaganda and mobilization work on environmental protection and responding to climate change.

Promote the supervisory role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in proposing, providing social feedback, contributing ideas to build and perfect policies, laws, and local regulations on management and use of natural resources, environmental protection, and response to climate change in the province.

Promote the supervisory role of the Fatherland Front at all levels and socio-political organizations in the responsibilities of authorities at all levels and functional agencies in the field of natural resources and environment... Propagate and mobilize the community to change the habit of using disposable plastic products, say no to hard-to-decompose plastic bags, classify solid waste at source, to minimize environmental pollution...

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 10 collectives and 10 individuals for their achievements in coordination and participation in environmental protection and climate change response in the period 2017 - 2023.
