The Standing Committee of the National Assembly has just decided to convene the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly, opening on October 23, 2023 and expected to close on November 29, 2023.
This session will be held in 2 phases: phase 1 from October 23 to November 10, 2023; phase 2 from November 20 to November 29, 2023.
The first national conference to implement laws and resolutions of the 15th National Assembly.
According to the planned program, regarding legislative work, this session, the National Assembly will consider and pass 9 draft laws and 2 draft resolutions, including: Land Law (amended); Real Estate Business Law (amended); Housing Law (amended); Water Resources Law (amended); Telecommunications Law (amended); Law on Management and Protection of National Defense Works and Military Zones; Law on Forces Participating in Protecting Security and Order at the Grassroots Level; Citizen Identification Law (amended); Law on Credit Institutions (amended); Resolution on the application of additional corporate income tax according to regulations against erosion of the global tax base; Resolution on the pilot application of investment support policies in the high-tech sector.
The 4th Conference of Full-time National Assembly Deputies, 15th tenure discussed a number of draft laws submitted to the National Assembly at the 6th Session.
The National Assembly will also give its first opinions on eight draft laws: Law on Social Insurance (amended); Law on Archives (amended); Law on National Defense Industry, Security and Industrial Mobilization; Law on Roads; Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety; Law on the Capital (amended); Law on Organization of People's Courts (amended); Law on Amendments and Supplements to a Number of Articles of the Law on Property Auction.
As a mid-term session, the National Assembly will review mid-term assessment reports: results of the implementation of the 5-year plans for the 2021-2025 period on socio-economic development, economic restructuring, medium-term public investment, national finance, and borrowing and repayment of public debt.
The 26th session of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly gave opinions on the content and program of the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly.
In particular, the National Assembly will conduct a vote of confidence for people holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly.
Accordingly, the National Assembly will take a vote of confidence for those holding the following positions: President, Vice President; National Assembly Chairman, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the Nationalities Council, Chairman of the National Assembly Committee; Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister, Head of ministerial-level agency; Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy, State Auditor General.
As the year-end regular session, the National Assembly will consider and decide on important issues such as: assessing the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the state budget in 2023 and considering and deciding on the socio-economic development plan, state budget estimates, and the central budget allocation plan in 2024.

The National Assembly also reviewed the judicial work reports of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy; the Government's reports on: anti-corruption work, crime and law violation prevention and control, and execution of judgments in 2023. At the same time, it reviewed and decided on important issues such as: adjusting a number of contents of Resolution 53/2017/QH14 dated November 24, 2017 of the National Assembly on the feasibility study report of the Long Thanh International Airport Land Reclamation, Compensation, Support and Resettlement Project; ratifying the Agreement on the Delimitation of the Exclusive Economic Zone between Vietnam and Indonesia; National Marine Spatial Planning; and a number of other important issues.
As usual, the National Assembly will spend adequate time to conduct questions and answers; consider and synthesize opinions and recommendations of voters and the People sent to the 6th Session; the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' recommendations sent to the 5th Session; the results of citizen reception, handling of petitions, and settlement of citizens' complaints and denunciations in 2023; and the results of reviewing the system of legal documents according to the provisions of Resolution No. 101/2023/QH15 on the 5th Session of the 15th National Assembly. At the same time, the National Assembly will carry out many other important contents.
