According to the survey, the market has not recorded any bank reducing deposit interest rates.
Currently, all banks have lowered their deposit interest rates to below 6%/year for deposits with terms of 6-12 months.
7 banks maintain deposit interest rates from 6%/year for 15-month term.
14 banks still maintain interest rates from 6% for 18-month term deposits. 15 banks maintain this interest rate for terms from 24-36 months.
In particular, HDBank applies interest rates up to 6.5%/year for 18-month term deposits.
A few banks are applying the 6.4% rate, including HDBank (15-month term), LPBank (24-36-month term) and OCB (36-month term).
Since the beginning of November, 26 banks have reduced deposit interest rates, including Sacombank, NCB, VIB, BaoVietBank, Nam A Bank, VPBank, VietBank, SHB, Techcombank, Bac A Bank, KienLongBank, ACB, Dong A Bank, PG Bank, PVCombank, VietA Bank, SCB, Eximbank, OceanBank, BVBank, OCB, TPBank, CBBank, HDBank, SeABank, GPBank.
Of which, VietBank, Dong A Bank, VIB, NCB, Techcombank are the banks that have reduced interest rates twice this November.
On the contrary, VIB, OCB and BIDV are the banks that have increased their deposit interest rates since the beginning of the month. With OCB, the bank increased interest rates for terms from 18-36 months. Meanwhile, BIDV increased interest rates for terms from 6-36 months, and VIB increased interest rates for terms from 2-5 months.
The State Bank of Vietnam has stopped issuing new treasury bills for the entire past week, and VND55,900 billion of previously issued treasury bills have matured. The amount of treasury bills in circulation has decreased from a peak of VND255,699 billion in October to VND98,750 billion.
According to BVSC, with the exchange rate pressure on VND no longer large, the State Bank will continue to let treasury bills mature in the coming time without issuing more to neutralize.
