Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2025 ended with impressive numbers: over 100 billion VND in revenue, hundreds of booths, nearly a million products. But behind these numbers, there are still challenges for the tourism industry in the general context of the economy.

More than 900 tourism products are introduced by businesses to people and tourists, meeting all customer segments at the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2025.

On April 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2025 officially ended. At the closing ceremony, the organizers assessed that the festival received many positive influences from the people, tourists and businesses.

Many impressive numbers in Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2025

According to statistics from participating businesses, revenue from selling tours, services and tourism products at the festival is estimated to reach more than 100 billion VND.

This figure is a positive signal about the purchasing power and interest of people and tourists in the tourism market during the upcoming summer.

More than 100 booths from 41 provinces and cities and 32 travel, transportation and airline businesses attended the festival with many diverse and practical activities.

The festival attracted a large number of visitors to interact and enjoy art programs, with more than 900 tourism products and services with discounts of up to 45% from qualified businesses.

Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, acknowledged that from a tourism promotion event of the city alone, after more than 20 years, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival has become a typical and prestigious tourism event in the country.

The festival is a bridge connecting businesses and consumers, a forum for exchange and cooperation, gathering ideas, products and the spirit of the tourism community nationwide, Mr. Hoa commented.

But... gloomier than the 2024 tourism festival

On the evening of April 6, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. Le Nhat Thien An - marketing manager of TransViet travel agency - said that at this year's festival, the company's tour sales decreased by 20% compared to last year.

Explaining, Ms. An said: "Only the first and last days are exciting, so they attract people to the festival. The two middle days of the festival have less bustling activities, so everything calms down. Importantly, this year's tourism festival falls on the Hung King's death anniversary, so most people and tourists are not in Ho Chi Minh City much, taking time for the 3-day vacation."

TransViet Travel's 4-day tour sales are expected to reach 5 billion VND.

Similarly, a representative of Thuan Phong Travel said that this year's tour purchasing power was slower than last year. Although revenue figures have not been released, this travel agency representative said that before the tourism festival, the company was ambitious about attracting foreign tours.

"Perhaps the economy is still difficult, everything is always fluctuating, especially the trade situation, making people and tourists hesitant to spend money to choose Western tours like previous years."

Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that according to quick reports from tourism businesses, sales revenue after 4 days of operation is estimated to reach more than 140 billion VND, an increase of 33.3% compared to 2023 and an increase of 16.67% compared to 2019.
