Overseas Vietnamese offer flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh

This morning, January 18, at the Ho Chi Minh Monument Park, the overseas Vietnamese delegation offered flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, on the occasion of attending the meeting of Ho Chi Minh City leaders with overseas Vietnamese in the Spring of At Ty 2025.

Attending the flower offering ceremony were Mr. Ha Phuoc Thang - Member of the City Party Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Vu Thi Huynh Mai - Chairwoman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese of Ho Chi Minh City and more than 50 overseas Vietnamese from many countries.

Representatives of Ho Chi Minh City leaders and overseas Vietnamese held a flower offering ceremony and observed a minute of silence to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh's great contributions to the cause of national liberation and reunification.

Attending the flower offering ceremony were many leading overseas businessmen and intellectuals in various fields.

After the flower offering ceremony, Ho Chi Minh City leaders met with overseas Vietnamese delegates at the City People's Committee headquarters and attended the conference "Policy project to effectively promote remittance resources in Ho Chi Minh City from now until 2030".

According to Ms. Vu Thi Huynh Mai, Chairwoman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, there are currently nearly 3 million overseas Vietnamese with connections to Ho Chi Minh City out of a total of about 6 million overseas Vietnamese living and working in 130 countries and territories. Remittances in 2024 will reach about 9.6 billion USD, an increase of 140 million USD compared to the previous year.
