Revolving around new and urgent issues in modern society such as globalization, socialization, global citizenship..., the school's students conquered teachers with quality speeches.

In addition to the open, modern thinking of an international bilingual student, they also impress with their outstanding ability to debate in academic English.

The "confrontation" between the reigning champion and the new face

Returning after three previous successful seasons, the Royal Speaking Contest still proves to be "hot" with an increasing number of students registering and all possessing excellent foreign language talent.

In particular, the school has applied a new format - turning the exam space into a professional TED Talk stage, each student will be a real speaker, sharing knowledge revolving around Technology, Entertainment, Design, besides expanding to many different fields such as science, education, business, art and life.

This "new breeze" also brings a certain appeal, helping participating students have more interesting experiences.

Participating for the first time, student Doan Thi Minh Anh (grade 12, Royal School) said she was extremely excited to try her hand at a new playground.

With an IELTS score of 8.0, Minh Anh, although a newcomer, is a formidable "opponent" in this year's competition. She also completed the qualifying round with confidence and a convincing speech to her teachers and friends.

During the preparation for the qualifying round, Minh Anh also received a lot of useful advice from teachers and friends, helping her have more ideas to adjust and prepare best for the competition.

In addition to potential new faces, this year's competition also welcomes the return of the "reigning champions". With extensive experience in competition, the champions are even more courageous and confident, bringing profound speeches to this year's competition.

Spreading the value of academic rhetoric

Starting off with an exciting start to the qualifying round, the competition was highly appreciated as not only a playground to develop foreign language and public speaking skills for students but also to spread the values of academic rhetoric in an international environment.

Born with the purpose of helping students practice and demonstrate their ability to express and persuade in English, the Royal Speaking Contest is also a bridge for Royal School students to spread the value of academic rhetoric to their friends.

Through the competition, students also better understand the role of skill training activities, developing communication and speaking skills for a new-age global citizen.

Representative of the organizing committee of the contest, MSc. Le Cong Tam (Director of the International Education Program Training Center) said: "Academic debate is an interesting activity that Royal School regularly applies, not only in the Royal Speaking Contest but also in class. Therefore, when participating in the competition, students are confident, have good manners and their speeches are well prepared."

Through the competition, students also have the opportunity to exchange, share thoughts and opinions and together spread the value of academic rhetoric, nurture the spirit of learning and self-development, and equip themselves with the necessary academic skills for the future.

With meaningful messages as well as great lessons that the playground brings, the competition is increasingly receiving trust and appreciation from parents and students.

The number of students participating in the qualifying round in all grades has reached more than 200 candidates. The final round of the competition taking place on November 25 promises to be filled with excellent debates and performances.
