DNO - On the evening of June 7, the People's Committee of Hai Chau District held the opening ceremony of Bach Dang Walking Street (from Dragon Bridge to Tran Thi Ly Bridge). Attending the ceremony were Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh, Head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Vo Cong Chanh, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department Doan Ngoc Hung Anh, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee Le Van Trung, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Council Nguyen Thi Anh Thi and representatives of departments, branches, localities, and associations in the city.

At the program, many special activities were performed for locals and tourists such as: lion and dragon dance and drum performances, dance ensemble, and art performances.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Hai Chau District People's Committee Le Tu Gia Thanh said that this is one of the major events of great significance, contributing to promoting the development of the night-time economy and creating a highlight for the landscape space in the city.
Accordingly, Bach Dang Street is located in the most prime location along the poetic Han River. For a long time, this place has become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists, closely associated with the economic, political and cultural life of Hai Chau district in particular and Da Nang city in general.
The officially put into operation walking street will bring to the people and tourists many cultural activities, arts, unique street art; diverse and rich commercial and culinary services in a new, spacious and modern cultural space. The organization of the pilot walking street will also create a healthy community living environment combined with impressive commerce and services.
The Chairman of Hai Chau District People's Committee also said that when coming to the walking street, people and tourists can not only leisurely stroll on a clean and beautiful street, admire unique bridges and enjoy the beauty of modern and spacious architectural works; but also immerse themselves in a colorful cultural picture with lively art programs, imbued with local identity, promising to bring interesting and unforgettable experiences.
The locality also hopes that organizations and individuals participating in business activities on the walking street will join hands to build a civilized and polite commercial environment; friendly and open service attitude; and awareness of maintaining hygiene and protecting the clean and beautiful landscape and environment. Thereby, creating the image of friendly and hospitable Da Nang people, contributing to developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector of the city.

It is known that according to the pilot plan approved by the city, the walking street space is located on the extended Bach Dang street (from the Dragon Bridge area to Tran Thi Ly Bridge with a length of 1.2km). The implementation time of Bach Dang walking street is from now until the end of 2028.
Bach Dang walking street operates from 3pm to 12am every day of the week; after the period of operation, all activities and services on the street will be stopped, the area will be cleaned and the surface will be returned to its original state. The walking street has 3 clusters of mobile kiosks with 12 kiosks on the entire sidewalk on the east side of Bach Dang street.
The kiosks will use 20-foot containers (6m long, 2.5m wide) and will be self-invested and decorated by the business households. At the same time, there will be 5 clusters of mobile sales vehicles with 15 vehicles on the east lane of Bach Dang Street, the vehicle positions will be interspersed with the kiosks.
Regarding the traffic organization plan when the walking street is in operation, the city will use 1 lane on the east side of Bach Dang Street on weekdays, the remaining 3 lanes will be one-way, with signs placing a 40km/h speed limit and limiting motor vehicles by the hour.
After being put into operation, Bach Dang Walking Street will host music and art performances; festivals, events, street art activities... In particular, the walking route will connect with the walking route across Nguyen Van Troi Bridge and Tran Hung Dao Street, as well as across Dragon Bridge, becoming a tourist highlight for locals and visitors to Da Nang city.
