On the morning of October 1, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province held a launching ceremony for the movement "Dak Lak competes to build a learning society, promote lifelong learning in the period of 2023-2030" and opened the Lifelong Learning Response Week in 2024 with the theme "Developing a reading culture to promote lifelong learning".

Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh; Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Thanh Xuan; Chairman of the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education Pham Dang Khoa and representatives of relevant departments, agencies and branches.

The movement "Dak Lak competes to build a learning society, promote lifelong learning in the period of 2023-2030" is deployed to promote the strength of the entire political system in propagating and raising awareness of all classes of people about the role, significance and necessity of encouraging learning, promoting talents, lifelong learning, building a learning society; mobilizing all classes of people, agencies, units, and enterprises to respond and actively participate with specific actions and deeds, contributing to the successful implementation of the Party and State's policies and guidelines on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training, lifelong learning, and building a learning society.

The Lifelong Learning Response Week 2024 takes place from October 1 to October 7, 2024 to promote the role of the education and training system in guiding and organizing reading promotion activities; creating a favorable and friendly reading environment, developing a reading culture among the people, helping to expand knowledge, develop thinking, improve communication skills; diversifying learning forms to contribute to promoting a widespread learning movement among all classes of people, encouraging people to proactively study regularly, continuously and lifelong; ensuring that all citizens have access to an open education system, towards building a learning society...

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh emphasized that studiousness is not only about going to school but also about the passion for exploring and discovering knowledge anytime, anywhere, in many different forms. Learning not only helps improve knowledge and skills but also helps each person improve themselves and contribute to society. Today, the tradition of studiousness is still preserved and promoted through lifelong learning movements, reading encouragement programs, learning clubs... in schools and communities. However, to promote this movement to develop further, we need to have the awareness of self-study, constantly improving our knowledge and skills. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh hopes that the young generation and people will continue to increase reading, thereby forming a reading culture in schools, communities and the whole society.

During the Lifelong Learning Response Week 2024, localities and units will focus on implementing activities such as: informing and propagating the importance and role of developing a reading culture, promoting lifelong learning; organizing Book Fairs to introduce new books, creating a space for exchange between authors and readers; establishing book and newspaper reading clubs by topic and age; organizing writing, drawing, and storytelling competitions based on books and newspapers; strengthening school library activities, promoting mobile library services, especially in rural areas and areas with difficult economic conditions...

In addition, launching the construction of classroom bookcases and parent bookcases in educational institutions; promoting the application of information technology, optimizing technology platforms, digital transformation; organizing educational classes on skills, reading methods, methods of collecting and processing information for students, trainees, and students in educational institutions and for people at community learning centers; increasing the provision of useful open educational resources, online learning programs; organizing activities to promote the learning movement in families, clans, communities, units and building a model of learning citizens...

Nha Trang University donated books and digital library access accounts to units.

On this occasion, the Provincial Library donated 200 books to No Trang Long Ethnic Boarding High School and Dak Phoi Commune Community Learning Center (Lak District); Nha Trang University donated 100 reference books and 50,000 accounts to access the school's digital library for 5 years and donated 10 million VND to the Provincial Education Promotion Fund; representatives of units and enterprises also donated books, notebooks and scholarships to students in the province.
