Opening of Vietnam Trade Fair

On the afternoon of September 20, in Ho Chi Minh City, the 18th Vietnam - Shanghai Trade Fair 2024 opened, organized by the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry - Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI - HCM) in coordination with the Shanghai Fair Committee.

The Vietnam - Shanghai Trade Fair takes place until 21/2024, at SKY EXPO Vietnam International Convention and Exhibition Center, Quang Trung Software Park, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City.

The exhibition brings together more than 200 enterprises and over 20 Chinese associations to display and introduce quality Chinese products. Especially Shanghai branded products in fields such as: Chemicals, new energy, high-end equipment, medical and biomedical equipment, household appliances, services...

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that Vietnam and China always build and nurture a comprehensive cooperative partnership. The Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City always attach importance to maintaining and developing cooperative relations with local ministries and branches of China.

Currently, trade cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai is an important part of the trade relations between Vietnam and China. Since the official establishment of diplomatic relations, the bilateral relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai has developed rapidly in both breadth and depth, especially in the fields of economics, finance, trade, logistics, investment and innovative technology.

In particular, Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai regularly organize fairs, seminars and economic forums to promote trade and investment between the two cities. These events play an important role in connecting businesses, expanding cooperation opportunities and developing new projects.

On the other hand, trade and investment cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai not only promotes the development of the two cities but also contributes to a deeper economic relationship between Vietnam and China. Both cities play an important role in the region, and strong cooperation between the two sides can open up many development opportunities in the future, especially in the context of globalization and digital economic transformation.

“Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City strongly hopes and believes that the two cities will continue to enhance the practicality of activities and further deepen the friendly and cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai in particular and Chinese localities in general in the coming time,” Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong emphasized.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Liem - Director of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry - Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI - HCM) also believes that this exhibition in Vietnam will further promote cooperation between the two countries in general, between Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City in particular in the fields of trade and investment.
