At the end of the trading session on April 11, the price of gold bars at businesses continued to be adjusted down by another 500,000 VND per tael compared to the last update, currently fluctuating between 102.2 - 105.2 million VND/tael.
Regarding the price of gold rings, SJC company adjusted the buying price down by 300,000 VND/tael, keeping the selling price unchanged, currently listed at 101.1 - 104.4 million VND/tael. DOJI also lowered the price of gold rings to 100 - 102.9 million VND/tael, an average decrease of 500,000 VND/tael compared to the previous adjustment.
Thus, compared to the peak set during the day, the price of gold bars has decreased by a total of about 1.2 million VND per tael, while the price of gold rings has decreased the most, up to nearly 2 million VND per tael.

By this afternoon, domestic gold prices suddenly turned around and plummeted after a sharp increase. Gold bar prices at major brands such as PNJ, SJC, DOJI and Bao Tin Minh Chau all dropped sharply by 700,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to the historical peak set this morning. Currently, gold bar prices are trading around 102.7 - 105.7 million VND/tael.
The price of gold rings is also not outside the trend of deep adjustment. At Bao Tin Minh Chau, the price of gold rings decreased by 1.7 - 1.9 million VND/tael, down to 100.9 - 104.5 million VND/tael. PNJ listed gold rings at 100.8 - 104.3 million VND/tael, down an average of 1.1 million VND for buying and 700,000 VND for selling.
Similarly, SJC company reduced the price of gold rings to 101.4 - 104.4 million VND/tael, down 1 million VND per tael. DOJI also adjusted down sharply by 700,000 VND/tael in both directions, currently buying - selling at 100.5 - 103.4 million VND/tael.

The reason for the decrease in domestic gold prices is that world gold prices have quickly reversed. Early this afternoon, the world gold price was listed on Kitco at $3,201/ounce, down about $12 from the morning peak.
More and more traders believe the US Federal Reserve will cut interest rates in May, with the probability reaching 55%, according to the FedWatch tracker.
If this happens, it would create favorable conditions for gold prices to rise further, as low interest rates typically make the precious metal more attractive relative to other yielding assets.
Bart Melek, an expert at TD Securities, said gold is being viewed as a hedge against uncertainty, especially as tariff tensions could increase inflationary pressures and push bond yields higher. He also said the US dollar could gradually lose its central role in the global trading system, which would further strengthen gold's position.
Central banks are buying gold, so gold will continue to have a lot of support as capital flows into gold-backed exchange-traded funds continue and monetary policy risks remain, said Alex Ebkarian, CEO of Allegiance Gold.
