The Belgian midfielder suffered an injury in the Champions League final against Inter Milan and was forced off at the end of the first half.
Man City faced many difficulties without De Bruyne. However, they still stepped up to the top of European glory thanks to the only goal of Rodri.
After days of celebrating with his teammates, De Bruyne's X-ray results showed that his injury was more serious than expected with a torn hamstring.
The Belgian player does not need surgery yet but will definitely miss the first stage of the 2023/24 season, including the Community Shield at Wembley.
In addition, De Bruyne is likely to miss the first round of the Premier League against newcomer Burnley. The medical team hopes he will return for the European Super Cup against Sevilla on the night of August 16.
The 31-year-old star himself also asked the club to give him more time to rest and recover before starting training to prepare for the new season.
De Bruyne missed Aymeric Laporte's recent wedding. Instead, he was on holiday in Ibiza with Gundogan and Nathan Ake.
In the 2022/23 season, De Bruyne still plays an important role in the success of Man "blue" with 9 goals and 16 assists in all competitions.
