On March 26, in Washington DC (USA), meeting online with Vice President of NVIDIA Corporation Keith Strier, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that cooperation in AI and semiconductor technology is a breakthrough within the framework of the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Vietnam has developed a National AI Strategy and will soon issue a Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030 and a Semiconductor Industry Human Resource Development Project to 2030, with a vision to 2045. Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son hopes that the US business community, especially leading technology companies like NDIVIA, will allocate resources and promote partnerships with Vietnam.
Vice President Keith Strier was deeply impressed by Vietnam’s determination to develop the high-tech, AI and semiconductor industries. Together with CEO Jensen Huang’s commitments, the two sides will actively cooperate to make Vietnam the “second home of NDIVIA”, especially in terms of technology and training of high-quality human resources.
Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son also attended a seminar on Vietnam-US relations at the Brookings Institution, meeting with advisors and assistants of several key committees of the US Congress.
In a speech at the Brookings Institute, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said that although the world is undergoing many profound and unpredictable changes, the Asia-Pacific-Indian Ocean region continues to be a dynamically developing region and a growth engine for the world economy.
In particular, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that Vietnam continues the Vietnamese bamboo diplomacy of “firm roots, strong trunk, flexible branches” to respond to challenges and maintain a favorable foreign environment for national development. Vietnam always considers the US one of its most important partners.
The two countries have achieved many important results in bilateral relations since the normalization of relations in 1995, including upgrading the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The Minister welcomed the cooperation between the University of Arizona with the National Innovation Center and other Vietnamese partners in training human resources in the semiconductor industry.
Vice President of the University of Arizona Jeffrey Goss shared that the University of Arizona will actively cooperate with Vietnam in areas of strength, including cooperation in developing the semiconductor industry.
