Connecting Laos tourism in Da Nang city

On August 6, the Lao Tourism Promotion Department under the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Lao PDR organized the Laos Tourism Connection Program in Da Nang city.

The program was organized within the framework of a working trip of the Lao tourism delegation to attend the Da Nang East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) International Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair.

The Lao Tourism Promotion Department under the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Lao PDR organized the Laos Tourism Connection Program in Da Nang city on August 6.

The program was chaired by Mr. Khom Douangchangtha - Director of the Department of Tourism Promotion, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos; Mr. Souphanh Hadaoheuang - Consul General of the Lao PDR in Da Nang and Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh - Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City with the participation of more than 40 guests representing travel companies from localities of Laos and Da Nang city.

Mr. Khom Douangchangtha - Director of the Department of Tourism Promotion, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos said that the Laos Tourism Connection Program in Da Nang this time is an important event to promote the development of tourism between Laos and Vietnam, a good opportunity for Laos and Vietnam tourism businesses to meet, exchange and build business partners for tourism products with each other.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh - Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism said that the number of Lao tourists to Da Nang in the first 7 months of 2024 was about 17,027, reaching 86% compared to the whole year of 2023. In the coming time, Southeast Asian countries, including Laos, are a potential market in Da Nang's plan to restore and increase tourist exchanges.

According to Mr. Souphanh Hadaoheuang, Consul General of the Lao PDR in Da Nang, the tourism industry, as an important bridge, has contributed significantly to economic development and strengthening the friendship between the two countries. Vietnam and Laos have together exploited and promoted many tourism potentials, from beautiful natural landscapes to rich and diverse cultural heritages. In the context of many fluctuations in the global economy, promoting tourism cooperation between Laos and Vietnam has become more urgent than ever.

Da Nang and Lao localities need to work together to develop long-term and specific strategies to turn challenges into opportunities, aiming to develop sustainable and comprehensive tourism.

Within the framework of the program, tourism businesses from Laos and Da Nang had the opportunity to approach, exchange, and introduce tourism information and services in the B2B space, promoting bilateral exchange of guests between the two sides.
