The 5-year cooperation agreement aims to support the goal of promoting and boosting Vietnamese tourism, contributing to accelerating digital transformation in the tourism industry.
The event was witnessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Lawrence Wong, on the occasion of Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong's official visit to Vietnam.
The Tourism Development Support Fund recognizes that the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Fund and Grab Vietnam will facilitate the promotion of Vietnam's tourism image to domestic and international tourists and contribute to the digital transformation journey, promoting the sustainable development of the tourism industry.
Accordingly, Grab will become a preferred transportation and e-commerce partner, continuing to make practical contributions to improving the experience of tourists when coming to Vietnam with a seamless service chain from transportation, delivery, ordering food, goods, and cashless payments.
In the next 5 years, the two sides will focus on leveraging technological strengths to promote digital transformation associated with communication and promotion of Vietnamese tourism.
This will make Vietnam one of the priority destinations for foreign tourists, stimulating domestic tourism. At the same time, the two sides will also promote the cultural values, heritage and cuisine of Vietnam.
Specifically, in addition to the Grab app, Grab plans to continue promoting local cuisine on GrabCar vehicles and sponsor additional benches with QR codes promoting local cuisine at popular tourist destinations.
On the Grab app, users can easily find “famous” restaurants on GrabFood and order food with various promotions. Recently, Grab has actively strengthened cooperation with authorities at all levels to promote digital transformation in many fields, not only to better serve users but also to join hands with agencies and sectors to create new driving forces for sustainable socio-economic development.
Grab has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hue City to implement programs and initiatives to support the city's digital transformation goals. Previously, Grab also signed Memorandums of Understanding with Hanoi Railway Company Limited and Ho Chi Minh City Railway Company Limited No. 1 to contribute to the management and development of transportation and the development of services and products for smart transportation in Vietnam.
