After more than half a month since the official resumption of charter flights connecting 11 Russian cities to Cam Ranh airport (Khanh Hoa), Thanh Nien reporters have been to the coastal city of Nha Trang in recent days, witnessing Russian tourists crowding the beach, even at noon, when the sun was blazing.

After 3 years of absence, Nha Trang beach is crowded again with images of Russian tourists swimming in the midday sun.

Russia is a traditional international tourist market for Vietnam tourism, in which Khanh Hoa is the most favorite destination for Russian tourists. In 2019, Khanh Hoa welcomed about 463,000 Russian tourists, accounting for 71.6% of the total number of Russian visitors to Vietnam (646,524 visitors).

Nha Trang beach stands out with its fine white sand and clear blue water, making it a favorite of Russian tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nhuan, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that thanks to the increase of direct flights, the Russian tourist market is showing signs of strong recovery. In the coming time, the number of Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa will increase sharply, from April there will be 50 - 55 flights/month; from July to the end of 2025 it will increase to 90 - 100 flights/month.

Russian tourists returned to Nha Trang after more than 3 years (since March 2022) of absence because direct flights from Russia to Khanh Hoa had to be suspended for various reasons. During that time, Russian tourists had to transit through several other countries if they wanted to travel to this beautiful coastal city, so the number of tourists decreased sharply.
