On March 6, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union announced 10 outstanding young faces of Vietnam in 2022. These 10 faces belong to 9 fields: Scientific research - innovation, Labor production, Business - start-up, National defense, Security - order, Physical education - sports, Culture and arts and Social activities.
Striker Huynh Nhu represents the field of Physical Education and Sports to receive this year's award. 2022 is a year of great success for Huynh Nhu, both at the club level and the national team. Huynh Nhu and Ho Chi Minh City I won the double of national cup and national championship.
Huynh Nhu won the Vietnam Golden Ball award.
In August 2022, Huynh Nhu transferred to Lank FC. She is the first Vietnamese female player to play abroad and make her mark in a national championship in Europe. The captain of the Vietnamese team ranked 2nd in the list of Lank FC's goalscorers in the 2022/23 season.
At the national team level, Huynh Nhu played an important role in Vietnam's journey to the 2023 Women's World Cup. Huynh Nhu scored in the match against Myanmar, helping the Vietnamese women's team pass the group stage of the 2022 Women's Asian Cup. In the play-off round, Huynh Nhu scored to help the Vietnamese women's team defeat Thailand 2-0. At the 31st SEA Games, Huynh Nhu also scored in the final match to help the Vietnamese women's team successfully defend the gold medal.
Huynh Nhu was voted the best female player of the year at the 2022 Vietnam Golden Ball Awards ceremony. This is also the 5th time Huynh Nhu has achieved this noble title - a record for Vietnamese football.
The Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award is an award of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to recognize and honor typical young people under 35 years old. The award has spread widely in the community about the efforts and struggles of young people; thereby creating motivation to develop young talents and promoting the development of emulation movements in learning, training, scientific research, society, creativity, etc.
