Identifying the development of transport infrastructure as the top priority task to promote socio-economic development, Vinh Tuong district pays special attention to the investment in the construction of urban and rural transport infrastructure, prioritizing resources for implementation.
Currently, all district roads in the district have been renovated and upgraded to meet TCVN 4054:2005 standards, the commune and inter-village routes have achieved a hardening rate of 100%, synchronously connecting with administrative centers and economic areas inside and outside the district, meeting the needs of travel and trade of goods, gradually forming an urban traffic network, aiming towards a type IV urban area according to the proposed roadmap.
Bordering Viet Tri city (Phu Tho) and Son Tay town (Hanoi), Vinh Tuong district has 2 national highways and 4 provincial roads running through it, including National Highway 2, National Highway 2C with a total length of 17.8km; DT.304, DT.305C, DT.309, old National Highway 2C from km 1+00 - km10+147 has been handed over to local management with a total length of 29km.
Taking advantage of having many national and provincial highways running through it, the district has invested in building 26 district roads with a total length of more than 72 km and hundreds of inter-commune, town and rural roads to connect with the administrative center of the province, district and neighboring localities.
Regarding the traffic criteria in the construction of new rural areas in Vinh Tuong district, currently, 100% of district roads, inter-commune and town roads in the district have been hardened; in which, district roads have been invested in expansion, upgrading and regular maintenance, technical level meets the standards of level III and IV roads in the plains, meeting TCVN 4054:2005 standards, in accordance with the provincial traffic development planning, ensuring connection with the provincial administrative center, district administrative center and neighboring localities.
Regarding rural traffic infrastructure, the entire district has asphalted and concreted 100% of commune, village and alley roads with a total length of more than 824 km, ensuring convenient motor vehicle travel, meeting people's travel needs, promoting the development of trade - services and agricultural production.
In addition, to meet the convenient travel needs of the people, Vinh Tuong district has invested in building 2 bus stations according to the planning, including Vinh Tuong bus station meeting the standards of a type 4 station, Vinh Tuong town bus station meeting the standards of a type 5 station; 4 bus routes running along national highways, provincial roads, district roads, inter-commune and town roads, with stops arranged to pick up and drop off passengers at the center of the district and communes and towns.
In addition, for passenger transport by fixed routes, Vinh Tuong District People's Committee has coordinated with the Department of Transport to build pick-up and drop-off points that meet the prescribed standards.
Present at the Vinh Tuong District Central Road Project, the section connecting from National Highway 2 to Vinh Thinh Bridge - one of the four key traffic projects being implemented by Vinh Tuong District, we saw that under the scorching sun, the workforce and machinery system were still working diligently.
The project is 6.5km long, with a total investment of 200 billion VND, is in the completion stage, and is expected to be handed over and put into operation in August 2023.
Mr. Dam Huu Tuan, Director of the Vinh Tuong District Construction Investment Project Management Board, said: Determining that developing transport infrastructure is the top priority task to promote socio-economic development, the District Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee pay special attention to the investment in building transport infrastructure, from the planning stage, capital allocation, to inspection, difficulty removal, and urging contractors during project implementation.
After nearly 2 years of implementation, the central road project of Vinh Tuong district is currently in the final stage. After completing the road paving and tree planting, the project will be handed over, put into operation, and achieve progress according to the plan.
When put into operation, this will be an important traffic artery, promoting trade of goods and meeting people's travel needs.
To achieve the goal of becoming a type IV urban area by 2025, Vinh Tuong district has basically completed the criteria for a type IV urban area according to the Resolution of the District Party Congress. In the field of transportation, in the period of 2021 - 2022, Vinh Tuong district has invested in construction and started 29 traffic projects connecting economic zones in the district and neighboring areas, meeting the needs of travel, industrial development, trade - services and serving key tourism projects of the province.
In order to develop a synchronous and modern transport infrastructure network to meet the requirements of a type IV urban area, Vinh Tuong district continues to focus on mobilizing all resources, promptly allocating capital for ongoing transport projects; proactively coordinating with relevant agencies to remove difficulties, speed up the implementation of transport projects, and settle completed projects.
At the same time, propose the Provincial People's Committee to approve the investment policy, allocate investment capital for new transport projects, create momentum for socio-economic development, contributing to making Vinh Tuong a type IV urban area according to the set roadmap.
