On July 25, Dak Nong Provincial Police coordinated with Vinh Phuc Provincial Police, Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Lien Hoa Commune, Lap Thach District and family members to hold a memorial service and award the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to martyr Do Anh Dao (Do Van Dao), former soldier of Quang Duc Provincial Security Department (now Dak Nong Provincial Police), who died on March 29, 1975 during the resistance war against the US to save the country.
Colonel Bui Quang Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of Dak Nong Provincial Police Department chaired the ceremony.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Van Khuoc, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Dinh Ngoc Khoa, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Police; Le Quang Nghiep, Secretary of Lap Thach District Party Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, unions, armed forces of Dak Nong and Vinh Phuc provinces; relatives of martyr Do Anh Dao's family and a large number of people of Lien Hoa commune.
Martyr Do Anh Dao was born in 1945, his hometown is Phu Thu village, Lien Hoa commune, Lap Thach district. In February 1964, comrade Do Anh Dao was sent to the southern battlefield, belonging to unit C12, D96. In 1966, he was assigned to work and fight at the Quang Duc Provincial Security Department.
In March 1975, the working delegation of comrade Huynh Tan Phat, Chairman of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, inspected the liberated area of Gia Nghia, Quang Duc province and assigned the task to the local government to take over the liberated area.
On March 29, 1975, while on duty protecting a working group in Gia Nghia town, due to the rugged mountainous terrain, dense forest, many bomb craters, and dark night, comrade Do Anh Dao fell into a deep bomb crater and died. The working group reported to the leaders of the Quang Duc Provincial Security Department to organize the burial of comrade Do Anh Dao's body.
The journey to find the grave of martyr Do Anh Dao at times seemed hopeless when information and documents about the martyr were lost. However, the search process always received the attention, companionship, and full support of the local government, the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of Dak Nong Provincial Police and other units and localities, so the search achieved favorable results.
In recognition of the contributions and noble sacrifices of martyr Do Anh Dao to the Party, State and people in the cause of defending the Fatherland, on July 19, 2023, the Prime Minister signed a decision to grant the Certificate of "Fatherland's Gratitude".
At the memorial service, Colonel Bui Quang Thanh, Director of Dak Nong Provincial Police, awarded the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to the relatives of martyr Do Anh Dao. Leaders of Party committees, authorities, departments, branches, organizations at all levels, armed forces of Dak Nong and Vinh Phuc provinces, comrades and local people respectfully bowed to light incense and observed a minute of silence to express deep gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions of martyr Do Anh Dao.
The comrades sent their deepest condolences to the family; hoping that the family will continue to promote the revolutionary tradition, join hands with the local Party Committee and government to build the homeland to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized...
