On the morning of September 22, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online, Mr. Tac Van Nam, director of the Bac Kan Department of Health, said that on September 20 and 21, Bac Kan recorded more than 70 cases hospitalized with symptoms of vomiting, fever, and abdominal pain.
Among those hospitalized, some still have fever, headache, and stomachache, but none are in critical condition. Most are stable and are receiving intensive care. Some patients may be discharged today.
"The medical facility is doing some more tests to determine the cause of this condition. At the same time, we are implementing disease prevention and treatment measures for the sick cases," said Mr. Nam.
On September 20, 20 students in Nong Thuong commune were hospitalized with symptoms of vomiting, fever, stomachache, headache, and diarrhea and are being monitored.
By noon on September 21, Bac Kan Provincial General Hospital and Bac Kan City Medical Center had received more hospitalizations, bringing the total number of hospitalizations to 54.
Along with students, there have been cases of adults showing symptoms of diarrhea, abdominal pain, and nausea.
In addition, 20 cases with symptoms of vomiting, headache, and abdominal pain are being monitored at home.
