The formula for calculating the standard score of the People's Security Academy is the total score of 3 subjects in the high school graduation exam of the Ministry of Education and Training in the admission group (40%) and the assessment test score of the Ministry of Public Security (60%).
The enrollment areas of the People's Security Academy are as follows:
- Region 1: Northern mountainous provinces including Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La.
- Region 2: provinces and cities in the Northern Delta and midlands including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh.
- Region 3: North Central provinces including Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue.
- Northern Region 8 includes active duty soldiers stationed from Thua Thien Hue province and beyond of units A09, C01, C10, C11, K01, K02.
