Visiting the production areas and regions with the overall planning orientation of the commune, we see that Dong Phong currently has many highly effective agricultural economic models, such as: The model of renovating landfills to build a Dong Tao chicken farm by the Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee; the model of growing fruit trees and raising fish by the Chairmen of the Fatherland Front Committee, the commune's cultural officers, etc.

These models have quickly “awakened” the desire to get rich of farmers. The reality of the land in Dong Phong shows that agricultural development must be given top priority. The commune encouraged three families of three commune officials in Phong Thanh area to invest in a pilot model of raising Dong Tao chickens; coordinated with agricultural officials to guide and help households with breeds, proper care according to technical processes, veterinary work, and animal feed. From the livestock cooperative of the three households above, Dong Phong developed into a cooperative with several dozen members who jointly produce and consume products.

In the same way, some aquaculture models in low-lying fields, guava and lemon growing models, etc., implemented by pioneering families of cadres and party members have been widely replicated, achieving quite high economic efficiency. In 2023, Dong Phong was recognized as a model new rural commune.

The commune currently has nine cooperatives with thousands of members operating in the fields of agricultural services, animal husbandry, growing medicinal plants, safe fruit trees, producing high-tech vegetables, tubers, and fruits on large-scale fields, etc., estimated to earn tens of billions of VND/year, contributing to raising the average income of the commune in 2024 to 83 million VND/person.

In recent times, in addition to completing the transportation system, the commune has built wholesale markets to facilitate the purchase and sale of agricultural products. For areas with difficult agricultural conditions, the commune has researched, developed plans and called for investment. Currently, there are three factories creating jobs for nearly 2,000 local workers with an income of 7-15 million VND/person/month.

A typical example is a children's toy factory covering about 1 hectare of land, employing 600 workers, paying 8-10 billion VND in taxes to the State each year and participating in many local movements. Lifelong learning is an inevitable requirement of the times.
