General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has successfully fulfilled the historical mission of a communist and a national leader, dedicating his entire life to leading the Party, State and people of Vietnam onto a bright path of development; at the same time, outlining a bright future for the Vietnam-China relationship.
This is the opinion of Professor Phan Kim Nga, senior researcher of the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, an expert in Marxism and world political party relations, who has also done much research and contributed to Vietnam-China relations, when sharing with a reporter from Nhan Dan Newspaper based in China.
"Hearing the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's passing, I feel very sad. The Vietnamese people have lost an outstanding leader, the Chinese people have lost a good comrade and brother, Marxists around the world have lost a good colleague and comrade-in-arms" - Professor Phan Kim Nga emotionally expressed her feelings upon hearing the news of the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people's passing.
As a Chinese scholar and a key member of the Vietnam-China People's Forum, Ms. Nga had the honor of meeting General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong many times. Ms. Nga said that through these meetings, the Vietnamese leader left an extremely noble and beautiful image in her heart and memory. He is a kind, benevolent, friendly, tolerant and approachable father, a leader who always cares deeply for cadres, party members and the masses. He is also a true Marxist, a steadfast proletarian revolutionary, an excellent communist leader with a firm belief in the path of socialism.
Expressing her appreciation for the works of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in recent years, especially the book "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam" which gathers theoretical thoughts on socialism as well as guiding thoughts on the path to building socialism in Vietnam, Professor Phan Kim Nga said that the thoughts on governance of the country and society through the works show that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a true Marxist, a true communist with noble qualities such as integrity, purity, responsibility and exemplary; especially attaching importance to the work of training cadres, improving the quality of cadres and party members, resolutely promoting the fight against corruption and negativity. "The image of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is like that of President Ho Chi Minh in the hearts of the people, intimate, simple, close but noble" - Ms. Nga shared.
Under the leadership of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Party, State and people of Vietnam have united as one, overcome all difficulties and challenges on the path of socialist-oriented innovation, and achieved many outstanding achievements, making Vietnam have never had the foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today.

As a researcher on the renovation process in Vietnam and the Sino-Vietnamese relationship, Professor Phan Kim Nga assessed that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong devoted his entire life to the cause of building socialism in Vietnam. Regarding bilateral relations, under the efforts of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Chinese leaders, the traditional friendship of "both comrades and brothers" personally built and cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong has blossomed with vitality and the bright light of the times. On October 31, 2022, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping personally awarded the "Friendship Medal" to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, demonstrating the good feelings of the Communist Party and the Chinese people towards General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the Vietnamese people. In December 2023, the two sides issued a Joint Statement on building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, outlining a new roadmap for bilateral relations in the new era. Currently, the two sides are making efforts to realize these orientations and roadmaps.

Regarding the foreign policy with the strong identity of "Vietnamese bamboo", Chinese scholars believe that this is an important part of the ideology of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on national governance, which focuses on the guiding thoughts and viewpoints on Vietnam's foreign affairs, crystallizing the unique cultural features of the Vietnamese people. Under the guidance of the "Vietnamese bamboo" diplomatic ideology, foreign affairs have achieved outstanding achievements, and Vietnam's relations with major countries have been constantly promoted, upgraded and comprehensively developed, including the Vietnam-China relationship.
