Learning Natural Sciences "in your own way" helps Language students get excited

According to the Vice Principal of Foreign Language Specialized High School, over the past 27 years, the Natural Science Fun Festival has been organized with a lot of scientific knowledge being opened up, and many portraits of scientists being recreated to help students get excited about learning.

Recently, the Foreign Language Specialized High School, under the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, held a meaningful Natural Science Fun Day for students of all grades. This is an annual festival that has been held for 27 years and has proven the effectiveness of a method of learning Natural Science subjects in the unique way of the Foreign Language Specialized students.

At the festival, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, head of the Natural Science group, shared inspiring stories about the role of science in life and called on students to boldly explore, experience, and nurture their passion for science. Le An, a student of class 11G, a member of the Green House team, shared after performing an excellent skit about scientist Alfred Nobel who invented dynamite: "The whole team spent 1-3 weeks preparing for the complete play from sound, light, and actors. Our team has a total of about 40 people from 10 different classes and spends time practicing at school after class."

An interesting part of the festival is that students get to transform into scientists to tell about their lives and great inventions to humanity.

An added that the school organizes many similar activities and she often participates. This is a meaningful activity, giving students new scientific and practical experiences that we have never encountered in life and also helping us gain new knowledge about science. This is a happy day for us because we have time to learn about science, no longer under pressure to study at school.

Le An is studying in a German class, so he is preparing for two English and German certificates to study abroad in marketing and communications. An affirmed: "I am not indifferent or afraid to study basic sciences, I just see that I am suitable and have a talent for a field and will pursue that field. In addition, in today's era, access to AI is important because AI supports learning and working a lot."

Talking to Dan Viet Newspaper about the meaning of the festival, Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Chi, Vice Principal of Foreign Language High School, said: "The school is always steadfast in its educational philosophy of training Foreign Language High School students to become global citizens, good at foreign languages on a solid foundation of cultural subjects. Therefore, we always focus on all subjects. Along with maintaining good teaching and learning activities in class, the teaching staff regularly updates and innovates teaching methods, testing and evaluation.

In particular, the School always focuses on learning with experiential activities, allowing students to explore through a variety of learning methods, so even in subjects in the field of basic sciences, we can still see the "quality" of Chuyen Ngu students: proactive, dynamic and eager to explore the vast treasure trove of knowledge.

According to Ms. Chi: "We are living in the era of science and technology, where every invention, every step forward can change the world. More specifically, Natural Science subjects will help students know, understand, live, adapt, and thereby love and be more attached to the natural world around them.
