Currently, farmers in the whole province are focusing on preparing the land to plant the main teas of the 2025 Spring crop. According to the issued crop calendar, the whole province has completed the planting of early Spring tea (accounting for 2% of the total Spring rice planting area, about 700ha/35,000ha of the Spring crop); the total cultivated land area has reached over 25,000ha.
Farmers in Phung Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district plant early spring tea.
Also according to the crop calendar, farmers with the first late spring tea planting area (accounting for 46% of the total planting area) have basically completed sowing rice seedlings.
In order to achieve high results in the Spring crop, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued a document requesting the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to direct localities to strengthen propaganda work to farmers to proactively monitor the weather situation closely, prepare adequate materials to prevent cold for seedlings; resolutely not to plant when the weather is very cold, with temperatures below 100C ; proactively collect and store water when hydroelectric reservoirs release water, ensure enough water for soil preparation and retain water for rice after planting. At the same time, local Plant Cultivation and Plant Protection Stations also need to regularly monitor the fields, promptly detect pests and diseases, and instruct farmers on how to prevent and avoid causing damage to production.
