Completed asphalt paving of 250m section connecting Ben Luc and Trung Luong expressway

The section connecting Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway to Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway, constructed by two contractors Tam Son and Trung Thanh, has reached about 99% of the plan.

On January 10, Mr. Tran Thien Truc, Deputy Director of Long An Department of Transport, said that the 250m section connecting Ben Luc - Long Thanh and Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressways constructed by two contractors Tam Son and Trung Thanh has now completed the asphalt concrete paving.

According to Mr. Truc, the Tam Son contractor has completed the asphalt pavement, lighting system, and guardrails. Currently, the contractor is focusing on reinforcing the curbs, embankments, and painting the finished road surface.

Trung Thanh contractor alone constructed a section, about 2m wide and more than 150m long. Currently, this unit is focusing on the crushed stone construction.

To complete 100% of the road surface and hand over to the Vietnam Expressway Corporation to temporarily organize traffic on the Ben Luc Expressway section from Trung Luong Expressway to National Highway 1, the Department of Transport has continuously worked with the contractor to speed up the progress.

Mr. Phan Van Loi, a technical officer of Trung Thanh Investment and Construction Company Limited, said that the unit has mobilized two trucks to compact the first layer of crushed stone. It is expected that in the next two days, the road surface will be paved with asphalt and handed over to the investor.

The section of Trung Thanh contractor is currently grading gravel and is expected to be paved with asphalt in the next two days.

Previously, on December 15, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan inspected the construction of the 250m section connecting Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway with Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway.

With the 250m section - branch A1 temporarily connecting the two expressways, the Deputy Minister requested that it be completed to soon connect the two routes, serving people's travel at the end of the year.

The Deputy Minister requested the Long An Provincial Project Management Board and the two contractors Tam Sa and Trung Thanh to mobilize maximum human resources and equipment for construction.

Just because of waiting for this 250m connecting road, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway cannot open to traffic from Trung Luong expressway to National Highway 1. The opening time had to be postponed from the end of November to the end of December 2024 and to this day the opening date has not been finalized.

The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway is 57.8km long, connecting Long An - Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai, with a total investment of nearly 30,000 billion VND. According to the plan, the section from Trung Luong Expressway to National Highway 1 (Binh Chanh, Ho Chi Minh City) and from Phuoc An Port, Nhon Trach to National Highway 51 (Dong Nai) will be opened to traffic first.
