Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí25/11/2024

(Dan Tri) - Ho Chi Minh City Labor Union has prepared funds to support workers in export processing zones and industrial parks who do not have Tet bonuses at a cost of 1 million VND/person.

According to the Trade Union of Export Processing Zones - Industrial Parks (EPZs - IPs) in Ho Chi Minh City, the unit currently has a plan to ensure stable labor relations by the end of the year.

The Trade Union of the City's Export Processing Zones and Industrial Zones is managing 732 grassroots trade unions with nearly 220,000 workers. With the characteristics of many enterprises having a large number of workers, the Trade Union of the Export Processing Zones and Industrial Zones has developed a plan to take care of workers during Tet very early.

In particular, the union promotes taking care of workers' welfare and closely monitors the year-end salary and bonus situation at enterprises.

The Trade Union of the Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks has surveyed and compiled a list of businesses that often show signs of stopping work before Tet, businesses that owe wages, social insurance, etc. for monitoring. This list has also been sent to the Management Board of the Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks for coordination in inspection.

The unit also coordinated with the Management Board of Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones to establish 3 inspection and supervision teams for enterprises with a large number of workers but often showing signs of stopping work before Tet and not giving Tet bonuses.

The union also urged businesses to promptly announce salaries, Tet bonuses, and 2025 Tet holiday schedules to reassure workers; and promptly intervene when businesses do not publicly announce salaries, Tet bonuses, or Tet holiday schedules.

According to the union representative, currently, grassroots units are constantly monitoring the situation to promptly detect businesses that do not give Tet bonuses.

In these cases, the Trade Union will coordinate with the Management Board of the Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones of Ho Chi Minh City to work directly with the enterprise to handle the situation. In cases where the enterprise is in such difficult circumstances that it cannot give Tet bonuses, the Trade Union of the Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones of the City will support each worker who does not receive a Tet bonus with 1 million VND.

According to the Trade Union of Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks in Ho Chi Minh City, the labor relations situation during Tet holiday in recent years has been quite stable, with work stoppages tending to decrease.
