(Dan Tri) - The SU-30MK2 fighter jet of the Vietnam Air Force dropped 96 interference shells, lighting up the sky of Gia Lam airport during the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.
On the morning of December 19, a flight of SU-30MK2 fighter jets took off from Kep airport (Bac Giang) to perform meteorological reconnaissance, preparing for a performance at the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 (Photo: Tien Tuan).
At 9:30 a.m., pilots from Air Regiments 927, 923 and 935 (Air Defense - Air Force) boarded the cockpit, ready for a special flight mission (Photo: Tien Tuan). One after another, the "king cobra" formations took off from the base. This is the second consecutive time the Vietnam Air Force has been assigned to perform at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition (Photo: Tien Tuan). After taking off, 7 SU-30MK2 fighters will form into 2 formations of 3 and 4 aircraft in the sky and fly towards Hanoi (Photo: Manh Quan). At 9:56 a.m., a formation of three SU-30MK2 fighter jets flew over Gia Lam airport, passing by the opening ceremony of the 2nd Vietnam International Defense Exhibition (Photo: Tien Tuan). Tens of thousands of people joyfully welcomed the pilots of the Vietnam Air Force. This morning, many people from far away provinces came to Xuan Quan embankment (Long Bien, Hanoi) from 6am to see with their own eyes the most modern fighter jet in Vietnam (Photo: Huu Nghi).
Right after the formation of 3 aircraft was a formation of 4 SU-30MK2 aircraft flying across the stage (Photo: Manh Quan).

The SU-30MK2 fighter jet with serial number 8535, after disbanding its formation, suddenly increased its flight power and made a steep ascent into the sky, creating a beautiful "silk-pulling" effect on both wings (Photo: Tien Tuan). The most outstanding performance was the last fighter jet with serial number 8591 to fly over the stage. When it passed the stage, it turned on its power and flew vertically, firing 96 chaff shells while simultaneously performing a drilling motion, creating halos of light, illuminating the sky of Long Bien airport (Photo: Tien Tuan).
This is the most attractive and beautiful ending that tens of thousands of people and visitors at the exhibition are waiting and watching (Photo: Thanh Dong).
