The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a master plan for the celebration, parade, march and activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The national celebration will take place from 6:30 a.m. on April 30 on Le Duan Street and some central streets, and will be broadcast live on channels of Vietnam Television, Ho Chi Minh City Television and local radio and television stations.
The celebration on the morning of April 30 will include a 30-minute art program hosted by Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security. After the flag salute, there will be speeches by Party and State leaders; speeches by representatives of veterans; speeches by representatives of the younger generation; a parade and march, ending with the release of balloons and doves.

On April 29, Ho Chi Minh City will hold incense and flower offering ceremonies to commemorate heroic martyrs at the City Martyrs Cemetery, City Cemetery (Lac Canh), Ben Duoc Memorial Temple, Cu Chi District Martyrs Cemetery, City Policy Cemetery (Cu Chi District); National Historical Site Nga Ba Giong (Hoc Mon District).
The incense and flower offering ceremony in memory of President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang in Ho Chi Minh City was held on the morning and afternoon of April 29.
Other events in the 50th anniversary celebration of the country's reunification organized by Ho Chi Minh City include the 37th City Television Cup Cycling Race with the theme "The Country and Rivers Unite" at noon on April 30; fireworks display on the evening of April 30. The city also organizes activities to pay tribute to families of martyrs, people with meritorious services to the country, veterans, former youth volunteers and forces participating in the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising; summarizing 50 years of Ho Chi Minh City literature and art after the country's reunification; inaugurating and starting construction projects in various fields...
Activities chaired and jointly organized by ministries and branches in Ho Chi Minh City during the holiday include the television bridge "Peace epic" at 8:00 p.m. on April 5 at Thong Nhat Hall; the outdoor art program "The country is full of joy" at 8:00 p.m. on April 20 at Thong Nhat Hall; the national television bridge "Forever the Triumphal Resounds" at 8:10 p.m. on April 27 at the bridge points in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Quang Tri province; the photo exhibition "Proud of a border strip" starting from April 27; a trumpet performance combined with horseback riding techniques at 8:00 p.m. on April 30 on Nguyen Hue Street and Le Loi Street.
Previously, the Department of Culture and Sports said the city planned to organize fireworks displays at 7 locations on April 30.
