On the afternoon of May 3, the Vietnamese women's team won 3-0 against Malaysia in the opening match of Group B of the 32nd SEA Games women's football event.

Coach Mai Duc Chung reacted surprisingly even though the Vietnamese women's team won big.

Despite getting 3 full points, coach Mai Duc Chung is still not satisfied with his players.

“We didn’t perform very well in the first match. We created a lot of chances but missed them.

Anyway, the players tried their best despite the hot weather. We won and will try harder in the next matches.

Besides, the Malaysian women's team also showed a lot of progress in this year's tournament," said coach Mai Duc Chung.

In the match against the Malaysian women's team, Huynh Nhu and her teammates missed many scoring opportunities.

Talking about this, Mr. Chung said that the heat has greatly affected the performance of Vietnamese female players.

“It could be the hot weather. Having to work at high intensity affects the players.

That led to them missing opportunities. It would have been better if those opportunities had been converted into goals,” said the coach of the Vietnamese women’s team.

Besides, coach Mai Duc Chung also said that the lineup for the opening match is not the strongest of the Vietnamese women's team at this SEA Games.

“Today the lineup I used is not the strongest. Depending on the opponent, we will have different preparations.

We have achieved our goal of winning 3 points without any injuries. In the next two days, we will solve the remaining problems," Mr. Chung concluded.

According to the schedule, on May 6, Huynh Nhu and her teammates will face Myanmar women's team in the second match of Group B women's football at SEA Games 32.
