With many sources of support capital and credit capital, in recent times, Farmers' Associations at all levels in the province have created conditions to help members and farmers have capital to invest in economic development, increase income, and contribute to the goal of poverty reduction in localities.
The garment factory of Mr. Dang Thanh Hai's family in Lam Son commune, Tam Nong district brings stable income to the family.
Previously, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Toan's family in Zone 2, Ha Giap Commune, Phu Ninh District raised cows, pigs, chickens... on a small scale. In 2022, he was promoted and mobilized by the Commune Farmers' Association to participate in the Sind crossbred cattle breeding project and received capital support of 50 million VND from the Central Farmers' Support Fund (HTND). His family's herd initially consisted of only 4-5 cows, but has now doubled, with at times there being nearly 20 cows in the barn. Mr. Toan said: "Since participating in the Sind crossbred cattle breeding project and raising them using the overlapping method, my family has had an annual income of nearly 200 million VND...".
Knowing that the State has a separate credit policy for those who have made mistakes and want to return to start their lives over, Mr. Dang Thanh Hai in Zone 6, Lam Son Commune, Tam Nong District was able to borrow 100 million VND from preferential capital from the Social Policy Bank through the trust channel of the Commune Farmers' Association according to Decision 22/2023/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on credit for people who have completed their prison sentences.
From this capital, Mr. Hai boldly invested in purchasing equipment, opening a garment processing workshop at home with nearly 20 industrial sewing machines, initially bringing in an income of over 100 million VND/year, creating jobs for 12 local workers with an average income of 5 - 7 million VND/person/month.
Not only providing capital support, the Farmers' Associations at all levels also provide training and transfer of scientific and technical advances in crops and livestock, and mobilize farmers to produce according to cooperative models to increase value per unit area. Up to now, through the Associations at all levels, farmers have been supported to develop 75 cooperative and linkage models according to the value chain. The Provincial Farmers' Association has organized 5 training conferences to propagate and mobilize collective economic development for 650 farmers in Thanh Thuy, Phu Ninh, Thanh Ba, Ha Hoa districts and Phu Tho town. Building a model of intensive guava cultivation in a safe direction associated with the establishment of cooperatives in 2024, directly guiding the establishment of 3 new cooperatives and coordinating the establishment of 5 agricultural cooperatives...
Mr. Dang Viet Anh - Head of the Economic - Social Department, Provincial Farmers' Association said: To create conditions for members to have capital to borrow for investment and production development, up to now, the Farmers' Association Fund at all levels in the province has managed more than 56 billion VND, lending to 237 projects with 1,563 households. Along with developing the Farmers' Association Fund, Farmers' Associations at all levels have received credit programs from the Social Policy Bank for nearly 1,700 billion VND for loans at 979 savings and loan groups with 31,470 members. With capital, many households have boldly invested in developing production, raising livestock, and growing crops in the direction of commodities.
Accompanying members in economic development, the Provincial Farmers' Association continues to direct all levels of the Association to maintain and improve operational efficiency, sign coordination agreements, and entrust loans with the Social Policy Bank, creating conditions for farmers to access loan sources for investment in production and business development. At the same time, coordinate to guide, inspect, supervise, and ensure that loan sources are used for the right purposes and effectively; organize training courses and transfer science and technology to farmers.
