Ho Chi Minh City People's Council has approved tuition fees and other fees for the new school year.

Accordingly, the tuition fee level approved by the People's Council and implemented from the 2024-2025 school year is equal to the level of the 2023-2024 school year and is also the level applied from the 2021-2022 school year to present.

Specifically, tuition fees are as follows:

Group 1 includes students from schools in Thu Duc City and districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, Binh Tan; Group 2 includes students from schools in districts Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Nha Be and Can Gio.

The tuition fee for primary school is prescribed as a basis for implementing the policy of supporting tuition fees for private primary school students in areas where there are no public primary schools and private primary school students who are eligible for tuition exemption and reduction policies according to regulations. Primary school students in public schools do not have to pay tuition fees.

5-year-old preschool children are exempt from tuition fees from the 2024-2025 school year (effective from September 1, 2024).

Secondary school students are exempted from tuition fees from the 2025-2026 school year (effective from September 1, 2025).

Ho Chi Minh City also stipulates that tuition fees for online learning are equal to 50% of the fees issued by public educational institutions.

In addition, on this occasion, the People's Council also passed and issued a resolution regulating revenues, collection levels, and revenue and expenditure management mechanisms for services serving and supporting educational activities to replace Resolution 04 applicable for the 2023-2024 school year which has expired.

Accordingly, there are some new contents compared to Resolution 04 of the previous school year, which are adjusting the names of revenue items starting with "Services..." to comply with regulations and issuing authority.

Along with that, the list of revenues was adjusted from 26 to 9 after review to comply with the provisions of Decision No. 43/2018/QD-TTg dated November 1, 2018 of the Prime Minister, the Law on Prices and in accordance with the authority of the People's Council.

FEES APPLICABLE FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2024-2025

Including adding the cost of air conditioner rental to the revenue item "Air conditioner usage service for air-conditioned classrooms" and adjusting the maximum collection level from 50,000 VND to 110,000 VND/student/month.

Specifically, the maximum fee is 50,000 VND/student/month for classes that are already equipped with air conditioners and a maximum of 110,000 VND/student/month for classes that need to use air conditioners but do not have them and have to rent them. The reference rental price is 1,320,000 VND/machine/month, 1 class equipped with 2 machines, 45 students/class, tentatively estimated at 60,000 VND/student/month.

Adjust "Preschool organization fee in the summer" to "After-hours care and nurturing service" (including babysitting service during holidays, excluding holidays, excluding meals). The fee is 128,000 VND/student/day.

The resolutions on the above-mentioned revenues take effect from August 1. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Council assigned the City People's Committee to effectively implement them; the Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Council committees, delegations, and People's Council delegates closely monitor the implementation process.
