Having secured their ticket to the next round early, the women's teams of Ho Chi Minh City and Thai Nguyen T&T did not field their strongest lineups in the final match of Group A.

The HCMC women's team "kept" key players such as Chuong Thi Kieu, Phan Thi Trang and captain Huynh Nhu. Coach Van Thi Thanh let her favorite student Bich Thuy sit on the bench of Thai Nguyen T&T.

Ranked above their opponents thanks to the extra index, the HCMC women's team only needs a draw to take the top spot. The team from the city named after Uncle Ho was not in a hurry in attacking. They played solidly for most of the first half.

There were opportunities that appeared but were unfortunately missed by both sides' strikers. The first 45 minutes passed without any goals being scored. The nature of the match made the two coaches reluctant to take risks. The second half witnessed the efforts of Thai Nguyen T&T. However, the tea team did not continuously push up but only tried to put pressure and wait for the opponent's weakness.

The Ho Chi Minh City women's team successfully defended the 0-0 draw. Vietnamese-American player Chelsea Le did not score any goals in this match.

In group A, Ho Chi Minh City and Thai Nguyen T&T entered the semi-finals as the first and second placed teams.

Hanoi women's team stopped

In Group B, the Hanoi women's team had to look for hope of advancing with a victory over Than KSVN. With nothing to lose, the capital's representative rushed to attack after the opening whistle. To be fair, Hanoi played well and soon got what they needed.

In the 10th minute, Dang Thi Duyen opened the scoring for Hanoi. However, they could not protect their advantage. In the first half, Nguyen Thi Van equalized 1-1 for Than KSVN. In the second half, Hanoi's attacks were not sharp enough and they had to accept a draw after 90 minutes of play. Phong Phu Ha Nam and Than KSVN entered the semi-finals as the first and second teams of Group B.
