Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang - owner of Yen Linh grocery store (Co Dam commune, Nghi Xuan) shared: "Since about the middle of the 11th lunar month, we have imported products with Tet packaging such as: candy boxes, pumpkin seeds, cashews, beer, soft drinks... Boxed cakes have many different prices, from about 40,000 - 180,000 VND/box. In rural areas, people usually start shopping for Tet from the 20th of the 12th lunar month onwards, so at this time, the consumption of goods is not high."

At electrical equipment stores, decorative lights, fabric and silk flower stalls, clothing stores, and household items with high sales during Tet... there are also more product samples on display than in previous months to serve people's Tet shopping needs.

“From around the beginning of the 11th lunar month, the store began importing a large number of flashing lights and lanterns with many designs and styles, suitable for the trend for people to buy to decorate their homes and gardens. At this time, there are many customers buying decorative lights, but compared to previous years, the purchasing power is somewhat slower. Depending on the purchasing power from now until Tet, we will continue to import additional goods,” said Ms. Tran Thi Tam - owner of Thang Tam electrical equipment store (Nguyen Chi Thanh street, Ha Tinh city).

Flashing lights and lanterns are decorative products chosen by many families.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hien (Dai Nai Ward, Ha Tinh City) shared: “During the days leading up to Tet, work is busy, so to reduce the shopping load, at this time, I have bought in advance products such as bowls, teapots, some kitchen utensils and Tet products that are used a lot but can be bought early such as spices, dried foods... Around the middle of the 12th lunar month, I will buy boxed cakes to give as gifts during Tet. Buying early gives me more choices, and it also reduces the crowding.”

According to retailers, this year's product range is quite diverse, with eye-catching designs and mainly domestically produced goods at reasonable prices. Prices are expected to remain stable until the end of the year. However, most retailers also said that this year's economic difficulties have caused people to tighten their spending. Compared to previous years, at this time, the purchasing power of essential goods is showing signs of slowing down, but businesses still put goods on shelves early to advertise designs and products for customers to refer to and choose to buy.
