Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province Dang Thi Hoa Ray congratulates the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year in Tri Ton district.

On the afternoon of April 9, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province Dang Thi Hoa Ray led a working delegation to visit and extend New Year greetings to Sa Lon pagoda (Luong Phi commune) and Po Thi Vong pagoda (Co To town), Tri Ton district on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year.

At each destination, the Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province kindly visited the health and life of the monks, nuns, pagoda management board, Buddhist followers and Khmer ethnic minority people in the area to celebrate the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay festival happily, warmly, happily and economically.

On that basis, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province Dang Thi Hoa Ray informed about the socio -economic development situation of An Giang province in the first quarter of 2025; acknowledged and commended the valuable contributions of the monks in mobilizing and propagating Buddhists to comply with the policies and laws of the Party and the State. At the same time, she hoped that the abbots and the Board of Directors of the pagodas would regularly remind and encourage Buddhists and Khmer people to actively respond to and participate in patriotic emulation movements; take care of their children's studies, strive to work and produce, and improve their lives; the pagodas should promote their role as cultural centers, places to preserve traditions, customs, and practices, and places to teach Khmer language to ethnic minority children.

The monks, abbots and monks of the pagodas expressed their gratitude for the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province. At the same time, they promised to continue to encourage Buddhists to promote the spirit of solidarity, constantly study to improve their qualifications and preserve the cultural identity of the Khmer ethnic minority.
