DTO - Continuing the visit and traditional Bunpimay New Year greetings in Laos, on April 9, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan and members of the Dong Thap Provincial Delegation visited and extended New Year greetings to the Vietnamese Consulate General in Pakse and the Vietnamese Association in Champasak.

Visiting and wishing a Happy New Year to the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan sent his warm regards and best wishes for the New Year to Ms. Ta Phuong Dung - Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Pakse; wishing all officers and staff of the Consulate General and their families good health, happiness, success, a new year of new victories, and excellent completion of assigned tasks.

Ms. Ta Phuong Dung - Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Pakse respectfully acknowledged the valuable sentiments and attention of the leaders of Dong Thap province towards the activities of the Consulate General; at the same time, highly appreciated Dong Thap province in promoting the cooperative relationship and friendship with the provinces of Laos, especially with Champasak and Salavan in the past time.

Next, the delegation of Dong Thap province visited and wished the Vietnamese Association of Champasak province a Happy New Year. Mr. Dong Cong Dung - Chairman of the Vietnamese Association of Champasak province and members of the Association received and worked with the delegation.

Here, Mr. Dong Cong Dung shared about the activities of the Association in the past time; the production, business and study situation of the Vietnamese community in Champasak province. Up to now, the Vietnamese community in Champasak province has about 1,100 households, with more than 4,700 people. In the past time, the Vietnamese Association of Champasak province has implemented many practical and meaningful activities to maintain culture and traditions such as organizing the national flag-raising ceremony, organizing the traditional Vietnamese New Year and sports activities on major holidays. Along with that, the community also has 01 friendship primary school, including 20 classrooms with more than 370 students, teaching 06 Vietnamese lessons per week.


Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan is excited about the results of the activities of the Vietnamese Association of Champasak province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan expressed his excitement with the results of the activities of the Vietnamese Association in Champasak province, especially the legal status and position of overseas Vietnamese being guaranteed; customs and practices being preserved, material and spiritual life being gradually improved; at the same time, he hoped that overseas Vietnamese in Champasak province would always help each other in life, stick together and together create a strong Vietnamese community, have a voice and actively contribute to the increasingly beautiful development of Champasak.

On the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay New Year, on behalf of the government and people of Dong Thap province, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee sent to all overseas Vietnamese in Champasak province the best wishes for a warm, prosperous and peaceful new year with family and loved ones.
