Teachers at Quy Chau High School in Quy Chau district said that on the morning of September 27, about 40 students of the school had to climb onto the roof to call for help from authorities when floodwaters rose and submerged the entire room they were renting.

Due to heavy rain on the night of September 26, the water level rose continuously, and it was at night, so the children did not have time to react, did not have time to pack up their books, clothes, and personal belongings.
By the morning of September 27, the entire Tan Lac town area was deeply flooded, cutting off roads. All the rented rooms where more than 40 students live, located right behind the school area, were also flooded up to the roof.

All personal belongings, clothes and books of 40 students, including students in grades 10 to 12, were submerged in floodwaters. After helping the students out of the flooded area, teachers and authorities arranged for them to stay temporarily in the school’s classrooms. The school’s kitchen staff is currently helping to cook for the students.
In addition, school teachers also called on the community and people in the surrounding area to support clothes for the children.

As for the books, the students do not have them yet. It is known that the school will arrange for the 12th graders who are studying the old textbooks to borrow. As for the 10th and 11th graders, because they are studying the new textbooks, they do not have them yet to support them in continuing their studies.

As of 4pm on September 27, many roads in Tan Lac town were still cut off and deeply flooded. Therefore, traveling and supporting students were still difficult.
