Báo Quảng NinhBáo Quảng Ninh09/08/2023

Realizing the influence of Hallyu culture on the travel decisions of young Vietnamese people, the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam organized the contest "Video Creation: Ideal Hallyu Travel".

The Hallyu wave, also known as the Korean Wave, refers to the spread of Korean culture and arts to the world, and Vietnam is no exception. Hallyu culture is increasingly popular in Vietnam through music - K-Pop, K-Drama movies, and many other forms of art.

In order to create a healthy playground as well as an opportunity for young Vietnamese people who love Hallyu culture to learn more about Korean tourism,   Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam   (KTO) is holding the “Video Creation: Ideal Hallyu Trip” contest from August 1 to September 15. The contest aims to create a playground for young people to freely create their dream journey in Korea.

We are also actively promoting Hallyu tourism to Vietnamese tourists through celebrities. In particular, KTO has recently released a series of tourism promotion videos for 2023 featuring actor Lee Jung Jae - the main character in the famous series “Squid Game” or actor and singer Cha Eun Woo as ambassadors for the 2023-2024 Korean tourism year,” said Mr. Lee Jae Hoon, Chief Representative of the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam.

Coming to this contest, young people who love the Hallyu wave will try their creativity in creating trips to places related to K-Pop, K-Drama or other forms of Korean entertainment that they love.

The competition consists of 2 rounds, in round 1 from August 1 to August 22, participants upload their videos to familiar social networking platforms such as TikTok, reels on Facebook or Instagram and Short on Youtube and submit their entries at the link posted by the organizer. 9 excellent teams will be selected for round 2 (August 22 - September 15) and submit a presentation explaining their schedule in detail.

The prizes for teams with good, creative schedules that closely follow the Hallyu theme will be 1 First Prize, which is a trip to Korea according to the winning team's schedule, sponsored by KTO, worth 40 million VND per person, maximum 1 group of 3 people; 1 Second Prize, which is a round-trip air ticket to Korea for the whole group, sponsored by Vietnam Airlines.

Next are 3 weekly First Prizes, each prize is an Instax Mini 12 camera; 1 Favorite Prize with a prize of a CGV movie card worth 1 million VND. In addition, the 20 earliest entries to the contest will receive an extremely lovely gift box from KTO. The total prize value of the contest is up to nearly 200 million VND.

In the first 6 months of 2023,   Korea   welcomed 191,288 Vietnamese tourists, reaching 70% compared to the same period in 2019 and is recovering positively. A large part of them are young people who love Hallyu culture and want to come to Korea to experience a true Hallyu. The places that young people choose are all associated with the imprints related to their idols, famous songs and movies, creating novelty and uniqueness.

Along with online events, KTO Vietnam will also attend ITE Ho Chi Minh (September 7-9) - one of the large-scale annual tourism events in Vietnam to actively promote Korean tourism to more Vietnamese tourists.
