Xinhua News Agency. China's National Meteorological Center has extended its yellow heat alert as many areas swelter in heat while several southern provinces warned of flooding due to heavy rain.

CHINA DAILY. Nine people were killed and 17 others were missing due to flash floods and landslides caused by heavy rain in Guangdong and Fujian provinces, China.

Xinhua News Agency. China has launched an anti-dumping investigation into pork and pork products imported from the EU, following a petition by the Livestock Association.

YONHAP. ​​South Korean First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong-kyun and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong chaired the 2+2 dialogue in Seoul today, along with senior defense ministry officials.

YONHAP. ​​More than 1,000 doctors will face an investigation into receiving illegal payments from a pharmaceutical company, according to South Korea's Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.

CNBC. Malaysia is emerging as a data center powerhouse in Southeast Asia and Asia as a whole, amid surging demand for cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI).

THE STAR. Malaysia is planning to build a new container port along the west coast of the Malay peninsula facing the Strait of Malacca, one of the world's busiest shipping lanes.

STRAITS TIMES. From July 1, most SMS messages sent by government agencies in Singapore will have a unique sender ID to make it easier for the public to authenticate government text messages.

UNRWA. Some 625,000 children are out of school in the Gaza Strip as schools are closed due to the Israel-Hamas conflict, according to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

TIMES OF ISRAEL. The Israeli military will carry out a daily "tactical pause" in part of the southern Gaza Strip during the day to facilitate the delivery of aid.

PTI. US National Security Adviser (NSA) Jake Sullivan will visit India from June 17-18, after twice cancelling his planned visit to the South Asian country because the US administration was preoccupied with the Israel-Hamas conflict.

CNN. A fierce wildfire in the northwest of Los Angeles (California, USA) burned more than 4,800 hectares of land and forced more than 1,000 people to evacuate.

BUENOS AIRES TIMES. Chilean President Gabriel Boric asked Argentina to respect its sovereignty and immediately relocate the Argentine military project that is encroaching on Chilean territory.

IMF. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lowered its forecast for Argentina's economic growth this year to -3.5% and inflation to 140%.

ADB. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Canada have signed a partnership to establish a new CAD360 million ($262.1 million) fund to support private sector projects focused on climate solutions and promoting gender equality.

Africa

AFP. France is planning to reduce its military presence in West and Central Africa to around 600 soldiers, in line with President Emmanuel Macron's plans.
