Two children died in house fire

Da Nang A 3-story house located in an alley in Thanh Khe district caught fire, three people managed to escape, two boys aged 12 and 14 died, early morning of October 11.

At around 1:30 a.m., a fire broke out on the first floor of house number 31D, lane 236, Tran Cao Van street, Tam Thuan ward, Thanh Khe district. The homeowner, his wife and their 9-year-old son were sleeping on the first floor and managed to escape through the main door.

Residents could not access the third floor bedroom to rescue the homeowner's 14-year-old son and 12-year-old nephew who had just come from Ho Chi Minh City to study in Da Nang.

By around 3am, the fire was under control, but two boys on the third floor died of smoke inhalation. Thanh Khe District Police are cordoning off and investigating the scene.

The house that caught fire was built a few years ago, about 6 meters wide and 7 meters deep, with balconies on each floor. Some witnesses said that the two children were probably fast asleep at the time of the fire and did not have time to escape to the balcony.
