Those are the feelings of many students and teachers at the Ho Chi Minh City primary school student exchange festival for the 2024-2025 school year with the theme "I love Vietnamese" which took place this morning, November 22 at Le Van Tam Primary School, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
The festival was organized by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City with diverse content, attracting nearly 1,000 primary school students from grades 1 to 5 from primary schools in districts, towns, and Thu Duc City throughout the city.
Many meaningful activities show love for Vietnamese
At today's festival, there are many fun Vietnamese playgrounds such as Telling Uncle Ho's stories for first graders; Fun learning Vietnamese for second graders.
Besides, there is also the playground Pen hoa em van for 3rd graders, the playground Cuon bien em beau for 4th graders and the playground Interesting Vietnamese The contest for 5th graders (students write a short paragraph of 5 to 7 sentences in 20 minutes) also attracted a lot of attention from teachers and parents.
"I love Vietnamese" preserves the purity of Vietnamese
Colorful and interesting games are organized in the "Vietnamese Corners". For example, at the professional cluster 3 including primary schools in District 3, Go Vap District, Binh Thanh District, Thu Duc City, there are teachers bringing guitars, teachers bringing musical instruments to perform impromptu with the singing parts of the students.
At professional cluster 4 including primary schools in Tan Phu district, Tan Binh district, Phu Nhuan district, Hoc Mon district, district 12, Cu Chi district, students also write calligraphy, giving calligraphy to teachers and friends.
The two young "teachers" who caused a stir at the new professional cluster 4 are currently 3rd graders at Bui Van Ngu Primary School, Hoc Mon District. Wearing ao dai, holding a brush pen, passionately working with Chinese ink and red paper, the two "teachers" delighted many passersby. Long lines of students and teachers also waited to see the two young "teachers" named Nguyen Hoang Khai (grade 3.5) and Le Ngoc Dieu Anh (grade 3.1) write calligraphy, giving words such as Peace, Happiness, Prosperity, Longevity, and the words being the names of the students and teachers.
Ms. Nguyen Trinh Hong Phuong, a teacher at Bui Van Ngu Primary School, who is teaching the two children how to write calligraphy, said that the two children have only been practicing calligraphy for about 3-4 weeks recently, during recess at school. "They are very passionate, study seriously and are very talented. Writing calligraphy helps students practice meticulousness, patience, not being impatient and helps them learn a lot about traditional culture," Ms. Phuong shared.
Ms. Lam Hong Lam Thuy, Head of Primary Education Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, said that the Ho Chi Minh City Primary School Student Exchange Day for the 2024-2025 school year with the theme "I love Vietnamese" aims to create a useful and interesting playground; creating opportunities for primary school students in districts and Thu Duc City to meet, exchange, share and learn experiences in learning Vietnamese.
"The festival contributes to innovating methods and forms of learning Vietnamese in primary schools, aiming to develop students' qualities and abilities, meeting the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program. At the same time, the activities in the festival contribute to fostering in primary school students a love and awareness of preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language," said Ms. Lam Hong Lam Thuy.
