Regularly on the first Thursday of the month, before the “Political and Cultural Spiritual Day” activity, each officer, employee and soldier of the Political Department (Provincial Military Command) sets aside a little money to put into the unit’s savings box. Everyone feels that their work is meaningful because it can help their comrades in difficulty, illness and disease.
According to the Provincial Military Command, from 2021 to present, agencies and units under the Provincial Military Command have maintained 16 savings boxes and saved more than 700 million VND; organized visits and presented gifts to more than 100 sick officers and soldiers; supported 20 military families in difficult circumstances.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trong Cang, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs (Provincial Military Command) said that the model of "Saving and following Uncle Ho's example" is a practical and meaningful work, demonstrating solidarity and camaraderie among comrades. This is also one of the good and effective models from the concretization of the "Determined to Win" emulation movement of the Hai Duong provincial military force.
Many other good models and creative ways have been built and implemented from the emulation movement "Determined to Win" associated with studying and following Uncle Ho's example such as "The Army joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind", "Godmother", "Warm comradeship, joining hands to nurture green shoots", "Saturday of love"...
The activities have been widely spread, contributing to the good implementation of the military rear policy. In the past 5 years, agencies and units under the Provincial Military Command have helped 24 families in difficulty with breeding animals and capital with an amount of over 100 million VND; given gifts and learning equipment to disadvantaged students with a value of nearly 400 million VND; sponsored 12 students from poor households, each student received 500,000 VND/month; visited and gave gifts to families with preferential policies, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and families of military personnel in difficulty with a total value of over 2.5 billion VND; supported the "Repaying gratitude" fund with an amount of over 1.6 billion VND...
The emulation movement "The Army joins hands to build new rural areas" associated with the emulation movement "Determined to Win" has been concretized by the provincial military forces with many practical actions. Up to now, all units under the Provincial Military Command have signed the program to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas in the locality. From 2019 to present, officers and soldiers of the provincial military forces have propagated and mobilized people to donate over 18,715 m2 of land; participated in 25,000 working days; coordinated to build over 338.4 km of rural roads; dredged and renovated 238 km of canals, inner fields...
Make a breakthrough
Agencies and units under the Hai Duong Provincial Military Command focus on implementing breakthroughs, in which the top priority task is to improve the quality of combat readiness, training, and exercises.
The Hai Duong City Military Command is a typical unit in breaking through difficulties and being creative in performing tasks. Overcoming difficulties in training grounds and training grounds for militia and self-defense forces and mobile militia, the unit has closely coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to direct the Military Commands of communes and wards to proactively contact and borrow land for training grounds. Instead of training militia and self-defense forces in each commune and ward as before, the unit has divided communes and wards into 3 clusters for training. Reducing the number of training grounds will help concentrate resources to consolidate, build and facilitate the organization and inspection of training. Thanks to that, the quality of local militia and self-defense training has been increasingly improved. The rate of participating troops is always over 95%, and the results of all inspections are good and excellent.
The "Determined to Win" emulation movement has made an important contribution to building Party organizations that successfully complete their tasks, and building agencies and units that are "Comprehensively strong and exemplary". Every year, 100% of the provincial military forces have completed their tasks, of which 87.6% of Party organizations have completed their tasks excellently and well (exceeding the set target by 17.6%); 84.1% of Party members have completed their tasks excellently and well (exceeding the target by 4.1%).
Over the past 5 years, the provincial armed forces have had 798 collectives and 2,561 individuals awarded at all levels. The Provincial Military Command has continuously been awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Ministry of National Defense and the Military Region Command. In 2022, the Provincial Military Command was awarded the Second Class Military Exploit Order by the President.
According to Colonel Vu Hong Anh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, in recent times, the "Determined to Win" competition movement of the provincial military force has developed comprehensively, widely, with many innovations and creativity. With the theme "Solidarity, exemplary, discipline, creativity, determined to win", agencies and units in the provincial military force continue to promote emulation activities, closely combining the "Determined to Win" emulation movement with the local patriotic emulation movement; creating motivation for officers and soldiers to overcome difficulties to complete their tasks well, with many tasks being excellently completed, contributing to the good implementation of local defense and military tasks.
