HAGL successfully recruited central defender Jairo Rodrigues.

Most recently, the mountain town team successfully recruited central defender Jairo Rodrigues Peixoto Filho, a player who once played with Neymar for Santos Club (Brazil).

Jairo Rodrigues is not a strange name to Vietnamese football fans.

In the 2023 season, the 1992-born star played for Khanh Hoa Club, played 14 times in the V-League and scored 3 goals.

After successfully recruiting the Guinea-Bissau star, it is likely that the Pleiku team will say goodbye to center-back Pape Diakite, a player who did not leave much of an impression last season.

As for Jairo Rodrigues, he grew up in the youth academy of Goias Club (Brazil), then was selected by Santos to join the U20 team, playing alongside Neymar for 2 years (2009-2010).

But the 31-year-old centre-back did not have many opportunities to show himself at that time, so he was not called up to the first team like Neymar, who currently holds the record for transfer value.

Saying goodbye to the Santos youth team, Jairo Rodrigues began an adventurous journey when he joined many clubs from South America, Europe to Asia.

Basically, Jairo Rodrigues is a player who plays quite quickly, has good technical foundation and integrates quickly into new environments.

Meanwhile, HAGL just had an unsuccessful 2023 season when they fell into the relegation race.

Therefore, the mountain town team is determined to return to the championship race in the 2023-2024 season.
